69 Through Steel (2)

Time was ticking by as the sounds of weapons strengthened by aura kept on clashing in the middle of the colosseum.

With each fight lasting only 3 to 5 minutes at best.

Both sides of the arena were fired up seeing their classmates give their all to win.

"Damn I didn't expect that even Dan would lose," Mark couldn't hide the anxiety in his voice.

From 300 to 280 not a single one from the Honor Class had won in combat.

The A-class on the other hand had won 20 consecutive times.

"Professor Carn must've taught them well," Troi on the other hand was a little bit worried too.

He hadn't been paying full attention to the combat below for he was trying his best to remember the novel he had read.

Yet no matter what he did he could not remember this combat practice event being mentioned in it.

'Am I forgetting things? or was this event not written at all?'

He then let out a sigh and gave up on trying to find any information.

Letting his brown gaze finally concentrate on what was happening below him.

A student from his class who he didn't bother to remember the name, was currently fighting with his hammer against the broadsword of a student from the A-class.

It had been two minutes since they entered the arena and yet it was already clear who was going to win.

The student who was wielding the hammer kept on hitting the ground instead of his opponent.

But as you look closely it was not because he was weak but because the man wielding the broadsword was skilled with his feet.

With each pound from the heap of iron, he had been able to dodge it by a hair's breadth.

It was clear that the man was playing him around like a fiddle.

Then for the very first time, the man had finally applied aura to his broadsword.

A green color soon coated around it.

The hammer-using student quickly tried to back away after seeing it yet the weight of the weapon he had pounded to the ground stuck still.

Alas,

The sound of the shield around his body could be heard shattering like glass as the man with the broadsword swung his sword.

"Dude....." Kyle instinctively facepalmed.

The morale of the Honor Class was slowly decreasing with each loss that they suffered.

"Are we not able to win a single one!?" Mark was understandably angry.

Kyle was ranked 115th, and Mark was 114th.

It would be awhile before they get their chance so they could not help but feel disappointed that the others from their class were losing one-sidedly.

"Were the f*cking Honor class, man."  A fellow student from their class could be heard letting out his frustrations.

"Holy hell, how is this happening?"

"What is going on??"

Among the hundred students, Xayah was currently biting one of her fingers to keep her anger at bay at her fellow classmates.

Gwen was gazing coldly at those who lost.

"Disappointing,"

"They should've trained harder," Reynold on the other hand inwardly wished that they had put more effort.

The voice of Miranda soon rang again on the colosseum.

"Rank 279th, Rainier of Honor Class, kindly make your way to the arena,"

"Rank 279th, Lynn of A-class, kindly make your way to the arena,"

Soon both students made their way to the platform.

"Both students ready your weapons,"

Rainier then took his war axe from within his bracelet.

Lynn responded by wearing her metal gauntlets as she stared at her opponent with fierce eyes.

"Combat begin,"

Both immediately let out their auras.

Lynn being an elf made the first move with her fastened feet.

With speed akin to a wolf she charged at the man with tusks in front of her.

*ROAR*

Being that of orcish descent, without wasting any seconds Rainier let out a deafening roar a signature skill of his kind.

But Lynn was not stupid and gathered all of her green aura into one of her fists and met the oncoming azure aura that was coming at her like a shockwave head-on.

*BOOM*

She had pierced through them and her metal fist was now quickly approaching the cheeks of Rainier.

The orc student had widened his eyes seeing his opponent was able to counter the signature skill of his kind with ease.

He immediately swung his axe with every might of his strength.

*CLANG*

The sound of metal meeting metal rang.

Rainier had barely managed to block the speeding fist directed at his face which could have broken the shield covering the skin of his body.

Both of their auras met in the middle.

Green vs. Blue trying their best to overpower each other.

Rainier let out a smile, his C-Tier aura will slowly but surely dominate the D-Tier aura of the elven girl.

Finally, a win for his class.

But then Lynn quickly moved to the side letting his war-axe hit the ground in front of him.

*THUMP*

A kick sent him back but that was not enough for his shield to be broken.

Before he could compose himself he felt a hand grab the collar on his neck.

Then,

A powerful punch met his face.

His entire vision became black and the last thing he heard was the sound of breaking glass.

"BROOOOOOOOO," Kyle had his jaw wide open.

"Idiots, man, IDIOTS," Mark was completely filled with rage.

A couple of medics then soon entered the arena and took the passed-out Rainier on a stretcher.

The entire right side of the colosseum was filled with cheers yet the left was dead silent.

Troi who looked at the situation was crying inside.

Before the fight, he was earnestly hoping that Rainier would win.

Why?

Because then all the attention and cheers from his class would be directed to him.

Why?

Because he's next.

"Rank 278th, Troi of Honor Class, kindly make your way to the arena,"

"Rank 278th, Arjay of A-Class, kindly make your way to the arena,"
