80 Chapter 79: Haunted School

[Kaede POV]

"H..hey, d..don't you th..think they w..went a little t..too far?" I muttered and stared at our UA school building.

Compared to its modern and high-tech appearance, the school now looked highly run down with cracks on the window, rust, and graffiti. My classmates were also slightly tense as well. They thought it would just be fun, but we should've known. For UA, if they do something, they will always do it with a 10000% work ethic.

There were other classes here, and they also looked nervous; who can blame them? If the exterior already looked scary enough, I can't imagine what's waiting for us! I glanced around and was surprised to find that there were no 2nd-year and 3rd-year classes, only first years. I wonder what's the reason for that...

The school's front door suddenly opened, and All Might appeared: "Ahem, welcome to our yearly Halloween event!" he announced.

"The rules are simple, really; all of you will be tasked to find this item, located somewhere in the school," All Might explain as he held out a small red flag: "The class that brought this flag out safely will be the winner! However, be careful; dangers lurked deep within the school; try to make it out tonight alive!"

We gulped and nodded; All Might then talked about other things like don't use our quirks, don't destroy school properties, vandalism, etc...

When All Might finished his speech, he left, and we all slowly entered the school. Just as I expected, not even one minute had passed, and I was already terrified. First off, it was dark, like really dark. Thankfully, Yaoyorozu came in prepared and created flashlights in advance for the class. Now that we can see, the school was covered with mold, spider webs, and even some faint blood trails...

Mina took the lead, and we followed her with shaky footsteps; I held tightly onto Shoto's hand as I recoiled at even the tiniest of sounds.

[3rd POV]

In the admin center of UA:

"MUHAHAHAHA, FINALLY MY FAVOURITE TIME OF THE YEAR!!! I LOVE IT WHEN I GET TOY WITH THESE HUMANS," Nezu cackled manically as his body shook with excitement and spilled some of the tea he was holding.

Recovery girl coughed into her hand: "Your sadistic side is showing again..." She said with exasperation.

"Ah, sorry about that; it's a shame that the 3rd and 2nd years learned not to participate. That makes me happy to know my students are smart." Nezu said and he regained his composure. Teachers! Let the scaring begin!" he announced through the comms.

[Kaede POV]

"There's nothing to be afraid of, right?" Ochako asked nervously.

We were currently walking in a dark hallway and searching through each classroom. My friends and I sometimes encountered some questionable traps that may cause some safety hazards. As we investigated the rest of the floor, the eerie silence filled our minds with fear of what awaited us.

"Grrrrrrr."

Everyone heard a low growling sound in the distance, and we all slowly shined our flashlights at the end of the hallway where the noise came from. It was a werewolf-like creature crouching next to what seemed to be a pile of gore, and we could faintly identify the shredded uniform of UA.

[A/N: Let's guess who's this teacher?]

All of us held our breath and the werewolf stood up. Its height was way above two meters. The werewolf turned around and snarled at us, displaying its rows of sharp teeth. My friends and I slowly backed away, and after what seemed to be eons, the werewolf howled before charging toward us as if it had found its new prey.

"RUN!" Sero yelled, and we all started sprinting back where we came from.

5Fiveminutes later...

We're all breathing heavily and barely managed to escape from the beast. Some chuckled at the exhilaration and thrill, while others were on the verge of collapse.

"Th...That was fun.." Kaminari muttered as he leaned against the walls of the hallway.

*Click*

We all paused when Kaminari's elbow seemed to press a hidden pressure plate installed in the walls. My friends and I weren't aware then, but we were standing on a giant trapdoor. The hatch opened, and all of us were dropped to god knows where.

[3rd POV]

Kaede screamed as the trapdoor led each member of class 1-A to a set of slides, separating them from each other.

*CRASH*

"Owww..." Kaede groaned as she stood back up.

Kaede crawled around the dark floor before finally finding her flashlight; she turned the light back on and observed her surroundings: "Guys?" Kaede called out to her friends, but no one answered.

Currently, Kaede was alone in an empty classroom; books and papers were littered everywhere on the floor, and the blackboard had a pentagram drawn with blood.

Kaede quietly walked out of the classroom and looked at the empty, pitch-black hallway.

"Okay, which way to go...." Kaede mumbled and shrugged before choosing to go left as she walked with shaky steps.

Suddenly, Kaede felt a hand on her shoulder; she flinched before slowly turning around, and to her shock, no one was there...

"I must have been imagining," Kaede said to herself.

However, Kaede immediately froze when she turned back around and saw a pale girl floating in front of her. The girl had black hair that ran down to her waist, covering her face as she wore a plain dirty white dress, and her appearance reminded Kaede of an onryō.

[A/N: Let's guess who's this teacher.

BTW: onryō is a type of ghost (yūrei) believed to be capable of causing harm in the world of the living, injuring or killing enemies, or even causing natural disasters to exact vengeance to "redress" the wrongs it received while alive, then taking their spirits from their dying bodies. ]

"Hee hee." The pale girl giggled before instantly vanishing.

"Nope," Kaede said before deciding to go right instead.

But Kaede stopped when she heard a terrifying scream at the right end of the hallway: "The ghost girl it is then...." she yelped and continued her original path.

As Kaede walked down the hallway, she could still hear the faint giggling, which set her on edge. occasionally, she would feel someone tugging her clothes but she was too scared to turn around. The pulling and laughing became more frequent when Kaede walks further down the hallway.

Even if Kaede was horrified, she wanted to help her class win the game, so Kaede diligently searched each classroom. When Kaede opened the door to the last classroom, she dropped her flashlight as the ghost girl was right in her face. The spirit's eyes were devoid of life and she leaned in so close that their face was almost touching.

Kaede stumbled backward and back against the wall. Her legs gave out and fell to the floor in fear. To her horror, the onryō approached Kaede, and she shut her eyes, scared of what will happen to her, a few seconds passed, but nothing happened.

Kaede opened one of her eyes in bewilderment as the ghost stopped in front of her. The spirit laughed mischievously and it took Kaede by the hand. The ghost gently pulled Kaede towards her and guided Kaede into the classroom.

The pale girl let go of Kaede's hand as she floated to the end of the room, where the bright red flag was resting on a book stand.

"Is... Is that for me?" Kaede asked in surprise.

The ghost nodded, and Kaede hesitantly followed the girl as she picked up the flag. The ghost giggled happily as she flew circles around Kaede before starting to fade away under the moonlight.

"T..Thank.. You.."

"You're welcome..." A soft voice whispered into Kaede's ears, and the room became dead silent.

When the girl disappeared, Kaede cautiously waited to see if there was anything dangerous that awaited her. Seeing that there's nothing, Kaede sighed with relief before cheering: "Flag secured!"

*BAM*

The door of the classroom burst open. A tall, slender monster wearing a ragged suit poked its head through the doorway. The monster had no facial features other than a wide jaw that spanned across its head. It scans the classroom and sees that there's nothing before leaving.

[A/N: Let's guess who's this teacher?]

"I hate this..." Kaede sniffled; she was on the verge of tears as she hid behind a desk just in time.

Once the coast was clear, Kaede quickly sprinted out of the classroom, trying to find the way out of the forsaken school.

*THUD*

As Kaede turned the corner and bumped into someone, she rubbed her head, and her eyes widened, realizing who it was. Relief washes her entire being and she hugs Shoto tightly. he was stunned by the sudden appearance of Kaede, but it was a welcoming one knowing that she was okay.

Shoto quietly comforted her as he told Kaede everything would be okay: "Let's get out of here." he said and helped Kaede get back onto her feet.

Kaede nodded, and Shoto chuckled as he patted her head. Together they stood up and made their way out of the school. During their walk, Shoto desperately tried to stop a nosebleed as Kaede latched onto him tightly, and he could feel his arm wedged between her breasts. They finally found the rest of their class outside with fearful expressions on their faces.

They exhaled in relief when they spotted their last two members coming out of the school. Everyone rushed to them, and Kaede's friends were shocked to see her holding the flag, and they celebrated.

"Congratulations on winning this year's Halloween challenge." All Might walked up to the class and congratulated them.

"By the way, All Might-san, who dressed as the little ghost girl?" Kaede asked out of curiosity.

All Might frowned and looked at Kaede strangely: "What are you talking about? I don't recall anyone dressing up like that?"

Kaede paused as she couldn't process what All Might told her. Kaede's face turned pale and she fainted. Luckily, Shoto caught her and he checked her condition worriedly. He sighed in relief as he realized Kaede had somehow fallen asleep.

"So, All Might-san, what's our reward?" Toru asked with anticipation.

All Might grinned: "Well, your reward is..... A Nezu Good Job Badge!" He exclaimed proudly as he held out a badge with a picture of Principal Nezu giving them a thumbs up.

Everyone in Class 1-A collapsed onto their knees: "We're so dead... Kaede's going to kill us...." They all muttered in despair.

I hope you enjoy it!
