Wulon City

Max got right to packing. He, at his mother's recommendation, wanted to get there as soon as possible and so in one day he was able to both finish packing and say goodbye to his friends, teacher, and of course, his parents.

"Good night Max!" His mother, after seeing him going towards his room, said.

Max looked back and cracked a smile. "Thanks mother, have a great rest as well!" He then got inside his room, closing the door.

Max looked at his room which now looked bare, decorations and such which were hung on the walls or placed on the furniture inside the room before were now mostly packed. He didn't take a lot of stuff but he now felt like a stranger inside his room.

He got onto the naked bed, placing his head on the pillow then went to sleep, something he didn't do at night for a while.

Max woke up with a yawn, he felt refreshed and after changing his clothes he got out of his room where his mother and father waited for him. He didn't know for how much time they had been there waiting for him, might've been a few minutes or just barely any seconds but he knew that they were here to tell him something.

"Alright Max, here," Igor said while throwing a pouch at Max. With the help of his reflexes, Max grabbed it and was surprised to feel the weight of it.

"What's in here?" He asked while weighing down the pouch, he didn't open it as this would just look disrespectful, instead, he asked his father who gave it to him.

"It's some money I have been holding onto for this occasion, don't waste it but if you ever are in need of some money hopefully this will help you."

Max didn't check the money but thanked him profusely. It didn't seem a lot but it wasn't a small amount either.

"Max there should be a carriage ready for you" His mother interrupted them, ever since yesterday the beautiful smile she had didn't seem to fade from her face.

"Alright, thanks mom" Max smiled then nodded towards his mother. He placed Matt on his back then walked towards a wooden crate where he had put all of his stuff that he was going to take with him to the academy dorm. He placed his old shield on the ground then the chest above it. He raised them both up and was now holding them.

With the help of his parents, he left the house and as expected, a carriage along with a man dressed formally in black were immediately spotted.

"I am the coachman of this carriage Sirs and Miss." He introduced himself briefly then seated in his spot. Max got inside and after a while, the carriage began moving.

'Wulon City... this will be quite the opportunity' Max thought and as soon as he did Matt addressed him.

'Yes it will be, in your village there most probably wouldn't have been any information about Darkness Element abilities and such, going into the capital city might be just what we needed.'

'Oh yes, I almost forgot about it because of how busy we were lately. What if we don't find any? Then we need to create our own right?' Max asked after Matt pointed out one of the goals that they have to achieve during their period at the capital.

'Yes, but as you know it will be extremely complicated, even with my help.' Matt admitted, both he and Max were serious about this conversation.

They talked away the day, Max was even more bored than before but he was now alone in a carriage which could hold four people so he didn't feel cramped, he was laying on his back on the slightly comfortable seat inside the carriage while talking to Matt. That is when he heard the voice of the coachman.

"Young Sir, if you can go to sleep then please do, I will continue riding the carriage until we reach Wulon." He mostly did it out of consideration, there wasn't a lot of time left until they reached Wulon City as they have been riding for almost an entire day in which not Max nor the coachman slept for a second.

"Thanks for being so considerate Sir." Max thanked the man but he wasn't going to sleep anytime soon. He remembered about the pouch his father gave him suddenly and he thought of checking it out.

'Let's see...' Max looked towards it with greedy eyes. He wasn't the type to decide stuff based on income but he couldn't deny the fact that he was utterly curious about the amount that was inside the pouch.

"WHAT?!" Max dropped the pouch while screaming. He got too surprised and accidentally yelled which got the coachman's attention.

"Is everything alright Young Sir?" He asked Max and he immediately responded.

"Y-yes no problem at all." Still a bit shocked, Max began gathering the silver coins that got out of the pouch when he dropped it.

'Five golden coins?! How many silver ones are here?!' He was able to refrain this time from yelling out his thoughts.

'Calm down Max, did you think your father would've given you a small amount?' Matt said with a monotone voice as if he had expected this.

'Maybe you are right, but it is still a lot of mon-...'

'And what? Be sure to not waste them then.' Matt said exasperated by Max's attitude.

'Ok then...' Max knew he was annoying Matt so he stopped.

Max looked outside of the window trying to calm himself but what he saw made his heartbeat even faster. 'Wulon City' Max thought as he looked at the huge stone walls which he saw in the distance.

Inside those stone walls was the prosperous Wulon City, the capital of this Kingdom and the place where the King lived. Max bit his lips with determination in his eyes looking towards it, a thought then appeared in his head.

'My new home... and my beginning.'
