The Anti-climatic Finish

--LEONA--

An eventful brawl that's for sure.

I reached the landing first, but was still at least twelve paces from the slightly ajar bedroom door.

Pushing off immediately, I hit the threshold in five jump-strides and yank the door closed just as Avé comes crashing into me.

We tumble to the floor and I throw her off before rolling into a crouch. She mimics the move a few feet away. Excellent. I grin at her and she cocks her head.

Her face shows that she knows something's up, but doesn't quite know exactly. Her unasked question is answered two-ish seconds later when Alek comes barreling into her, not expecting a crouching form in front of the last twist in the stairs.

Avé works to throw him off, but Alek is, surprisingly, much better at grappling than she is. I know I'm not quite in the clear, but Alek's arrival is enough for me to throw open the bedroom door and hustle to the bathroom, slamming that door closed just as a yelp of pain and laugh of victory fill the room.

--------

As I wander out, towel around my shoulders, I'm greeted by Alek massaging Avé's leg.

"Anything serious?" I ask them.

"Just her leg, and my face."

"And his pride."

I snort and Alek pinches Avé resulting in a yelp. I then head to my bunk.

"So nothing more than usual."

Avé laughs and Alek's distressed whine is quickly replaced by the pillow he launches at my back. It falls short of my head and slams squarely into my back instead.

I pull the tube of medicine from my bag and straighten.

"Oh, so you don't need this right?"

"Medicine!"

Alek attempts to walk over, but Avé's body is practically draped over him so he settles for making grabby hands.

"Ah, but I don't negotiate with violent pillow throwers."

"Noooooooo," he moans, flopping back onto the bed.

"But my face. Please, my face."

I grin and sit down on my own bunk.

"You're talking just fine," I point out seriously, a smile creeping onto my face, "you can't possibly need it."

"Leooooo, pleaaaaase."

"Catch."

He sits up abruptly and scoops the tube out of the air. Avé frowns in displeasure at being jostled.

"So who won?"

Avé's frown stays while Alek grins widely before wincing.

"Alek did."

"But honestly, it doesn't feel like I did," he grumbles, rubbing some of the medicine onto his face.

I smile.

--------

"Okay!" I clap my hands to get their attention.

They both look up and down from their respective beds. I drag the duffle bag out from under my bunk and walk over to the sitting room. I glance back to make sure they've moved before starting on my project.

I grab a pillow from the couch and plonk myself in front of the TV.

Open the bag. Take the HDMI cord out of the bag. Take the laptop out of the bag. Turn on the laptop. Turn on the TV. Plug in HDMI. You can see where this is going right?

I pull up the file just as they settle into the armchairs across from me.

"What's this?" Avé asks.

Alek swats Avé's arm lightly sighing. "It's the Lycan House crest. Duh."

Avé oh's and the two of us grin.

"So this is my bit of help to y'all."
