Chapter 51: The Reborn 13th Floor

Since Silver Moon Apartments became the new core of the multiverse, the entire building had undergone a revolutionary change. Every corner was filled with new vitality and energy, as if the whole building had come to life. However, the most striking change was the mysterious 13th floor.

"This is unbelievable," Alex murmured, "It's completely different here."

He walked slowly down the corridor, noticing that the once tightly closed doors were now half-open, inviting exploration. Alex pushed open the nearest door to find a small library filled with glowing books.

"Alex!" a familiar voice called from behind. Alex turned to see Kai walking quickly towards him.

"Kai, you're here too." Alex smiled, "Have you seen it? This place... it's completely different."

Kai nodded, excitement sparkling in his eyes: "Yes, it's like a whole new world. I just found a room that can show past memories, and a window that can foresee the future."

The two continued to stroll down the corridor, discovering new surprises behind every door they opened. Some rooms were filled with floating points of light, others were a starry sky; some rooms had time flowing backwards, while others were habitats for strange creatures.

"What do you think is going on?" Alex asked, "Why has the 13th floor changed like this?"

Kai pondered, "Maybe it's because we successfully prevented that disaster, and the building's core was reshaped. This place now seems like... a microcosm of the universe."

Suddenly, a large door at the end of the corridor caught their attention. Unlike the others, this door was pure silver, carved with complex symbols that looked like phases of the moon.

Alex and Kai exchanged a glance and instinctively walked towards the door. As they approached, it opened automatically.

Inside was a spacious circular hall with a ceiling so high it was out of sight. In the center was a silver-glowing sphere, surrounded by countless star-like points of light. Most surprisingly, the entire space seemed to pulse slowly to some rhythm, like a huge living organism.

"This is..." Alex marveled.

"The new core of the building," a voice, both familiar and strange, suddenly sounded. The voice seemed to come from all directions, yet also directly in their minds.

"Leo?" Kai asked in surprise, "Is that you?"

"Yes and no," the voice replied, "I am now part of Silver Moon Apartments. When you prevented that disaster, my consciousness merged with the building, becoming its soul."

Alex looked around in amazement: "So, this place is now..."

"A hub connecting the multiverse," Leo's voice explained, "It can lead to other universes, even create new possibilities. But this power needs someone to guide and protect it."

Alex felt dizzy, the weight of this responsibility suddenly pressing on his shoulders. He looked at Kai, finding him looking back, his eyes full of determination and trust.

"What should we do?" Kai asked.

Leo's voice softened: "Touch the central light sphere, accept its power. But be careful, this power might bring unexpected changes."

Alex took a deep breath and reached out. Kai also extended his hand, their fingers almost simultaneously touching the light sphere.

A powerful energy instantly surged into their bodies. Alex felt his consciousness seemingly extend throughout the entire building, even further. He could sense the presence of every resident, the changes in every room, even the pulse of other universes.

When the energy flow stopped, Alex opened his eyes to find Kai looking at him. Their eyes both sparkled with an unprecedented light.

"We did it," Kai said softly, "I can feel the entire building... no, the entire multiverse."

Alex nodded, but suddenly frowned: "Wait, I feel something's not right. Kai, do you sense a... dark presence?"

Just then, the lights in the hall suddenly flickered, and a bone-chilling cold swept through.

Leo's voice sounded again, this time with a hint of tension: "It seems taking over the reborn 13th floor is just the beginning of your journey. A greater threat is approaching. You must learn to control this new power, protect Silver Moon Apartments and all the universes connected to it."

Alex gripped Kai's hand tightly: "Whatever happens, we'll face it together."

Kai squeezed Alex's hand back, saying firmly: "Yes, together. Leo, will you guide us?"

"I'll do my best," Leo replied, "But remember, true power comes from within you, from the connection between you."

As they walked out of the hall, Alex knew that a brand new adventure awaited them. The reborn 13th floor was not just a miracle, but also a starting point full of challenges. And he and Kai would be key to protecting this magical world.
