Chapter 6: The Mysterious Encounter

After a long journey, Qin Feng and Lao Mo finally arrived in the city of Black Smoky from Lingxu Cave. They had decided to keep their visit discreet, without informing anyone in the city. Their main goal was to deal with Ye Yan as swiftly as possible.

As they entered the city, they felt a strong aura coming from a powerful practitioner at the peak of the Great Master Realm. This surprised both Qin Feng and Lao Mo, as there was no record of such a powerful individual in Black Smoky City.

They decided to head towards the city lord's mansion, where the powerful aura seemed to originate. Although they walked, they covered long distances with each step, but to the ordinary passers-by, it was just a gust of wind passing by.

In a teahouse outside the city lord's mansion, people were gathered, sharing stories about the Eastern Wasteland. Among the listeners was an ordinary-looking old man in a black robe, quietly sipping his tea.

As they entered the teahouse, Qin Feng and Lao Mo immediately noticed the old man. Qin Feng politely asked if the seat was taken.

The old man looked at Qin Feng with a strange expression, as he didn't feel comfortable being called an "old man" by someone seemingly of the same age. Nevertheless, he nodded and allowed Qin Feng to sit.

With a friendly smile, Qin Feng asked if the old man was from Black Smoky City.

The old man replied, "Indeed, I have been living in Black Smoky City for quite some time now."

Qin Feng continued the conversation, "We're new here. We've heard about the renowned Ye Family of this city. Do you happen to know someone named Ye Yan from that family?"

The old man looked thoughtful, "Ye Yan, you say? He is indeed a member of the Ye Family, but he's not quite respected here. Many consider him a waste."

Qin Feng raised an eyebrow, feigning curiosity, "A waste? What do you mean?"

The old man leaned closer and whispered, "Well, three years ago, Ye Yan's cultivation was promising. He even attracted the attention of some powerful figures. But then, something happened, and he lost all his progress. Since then, he's been seen as a failure and a disappointment to his family."

Qin Feng pretended to be surprised, "That's quite unfortunate. Do you know where we can find this Ye Yan?"

The old man hesitated for a moment before pointing towards a nearby street, "You can find him around that area. But I must warn you, he's not the friendliest person."

Qin Feng thanked the old man for the information and excused himself. He and Lao Mo then headed towards the street where Ye Yan was said to be.

As they walked, Lao Mo asked, "Do you think this Ye Yan is the one we're looking for, the target of our mission?"

Qin Feng nodded, "It's highly likely. Let's find him and see what he's up to."

With determination in their hearts, Qin Feng and Lao Mo continued their search for Ye Yan, the key to their 5-star mission.
