Chapter 4: Breaking Point

As the pressure mounted and the walls closed in around him, Jake found himself teetering on the brink of despair. Jake was sorrowful for months as he had really sacrificed everything he had in a desperate bid to appease his tormentors, but still, they refused to release their grip on him.

In this lean period, Jake kept to himself and did not talk to anyone about what he was going through. It was in his darkest hour that Jake finally reached his breaking point and he could not put up with the life he was now accustomed to living anymore. The reality of his life was now very dark and stark as the thoughts of killing himself became a daily occurrence and had made his life become a living nightmare.

Handsome, smart, and lively Jake had now disintegrated and he slowly but surely cut a forlorn figure at home and in school who kept lying to people that he was fine while he was falling apart both internally and externally. His grades fell precipitously and his social life went downhill alongside it. Jake began to stoop so low when he walked down the street and he genuinely felt the world was better off without him. Now, Jake had a decision to make. What path should he take? He pondered on life and death decisions for days.

With tears streaming down his face and his heart heavy with despair, he made a decision that would change the course of his life forever.
