Confrontation

Sunny froze, and Nephis seemed surprised for the second time today.

She looked between Sunny and Cassie before locking her gaze on Sunny, noticing the beads of sweat forming on his forehead.

This all but confirmed Cassie's words.

"Is there another person inside you?" Nephis questioned. While Sunny didn't respond, he seemed zoned out.

(So, what now?)

[Uhhhh… No clue, I really didn't foresee this. Give me a minute to take control. Stall for time.]

"Well… there is, but it's complicated," Sunny stammered.

Nephis gave him a suspicious look, causing him to sweat more. He cleared his throat and looked at Cassie questioningly.

"But how did you know?"

(How long?)

[Thirty-five seconds.]

"Oh… well, the first giveaway was that you had fifteen attributes… I noticed it at the academy but... since you didn't mention it i wasn't sure about asking." Cassie hesitantly said. This caused Nephis to widen her eyes slightly and Sunny's jaw to drop.

[Hey… why aren't you letting me take control?] Pleiades questioned, finding that the usual process of control was somehow blocked.

"Fifteen? You're joking… right?" Sunny asked, almost out of breath.

"No, I'm telling the truth. I thought that you might have had four people in there, but that sounded like a bit much. And I knew because the three attributes you had were completely different from his."

"What are they?" Sunny asked, bewildered.

Cassie scratched her cheek in discomfort. "Do you… really not know?"

"No, I don't really know anything about him. He's been very secretive about everything, so I don't trust him much."

If Pleiades had been sitting, he would have fallen from his chair.

'Not trust me!? After all I did for you, see if I save you from being enslaved.' Pleiades pouted.

"Well, one of them is like your mark of divinity. That's what made me suspicious of another person being inside you. It's basically an evolved version of it, called Star of Divinity, which makes his soul shine as bright as a star. Another makes him lucky, and one allows him to revive after dying."

Cassie stopped, feeling uncomfortable.

There was no reason, but she felt like two pairs of eyes were staring at her in astonishment. Nephis had a slightly surprised expression, but remained calm, only seeming a little baffled.

And sunny was simply astonished, even his shadow seemed keen on listening to cassie.

(What the hell!? Reviving after you die? How the hell did you get that?)

[Well, you wouldn't believe me if I told you… asswipe.]

Pleiades coldly said, causing Sunny to shiver. He had only ever heard Pleiades in a humorous or playful tone, very rarely a stern one, but never such a cold and indifferent one.

It scared him quite a bit.

'Maybe I messed up,' Sunny thought, focusing on Cassie as she continued.

"The other attributes are that he knows how to… weave? Whatever that is. Another makes his soul more powerful than normal; it also has weave in it. Another makes him unlikely to appear in any divination, but it seems that that only works for visions,

one makes him extremely resistant to physical attacks and completely immune to mind and soul attacks. One makes him very coordinated, and another allows him to activate the enchantments of memories without essence as long as he puts his blood on it."

Sunny almost gasped, and Nephis dropped her sword. Cassie didn't seem surprised at the noises they were making and continued.

"And then, the really unbelievable ones come. One says that he killed an unholy titan while dormant, making nightmare creatures terrified of him and making him more prone to miracles.

Another says that long ago, he killed a deity, causing any nightmare creature he faces to be weakened when facing him. Lastly, one says he comes from multiple time periods, making his attacks more unpredictable."

Silence. Complete and utter silence.

Nephis couldn't maintain her usual stoic face, and Sunny just stopped thinking about anything. Nothing made sense anymore.

'Who the hell is inside my body!?'

(What the hell is all this? An unholy titan while dormant, and a god? And what periods of time do you come from?)

[Well… it is what it is.]

(You can't just think I'll let you off with that!!)

Sunny regained his previously lost composure at Pleiades' usual antics.

Nephis also regained her composure and bent down to pick up her sword, standing her guard.

"Sunny… who exactly is… he?"

Sunny waited a little before the pressure in his head became too much.

"I… have no idea. He just appeared in my head when I first awoke from my first nightmare, and he's been around ever since. He says his name is Pleiades, but now I don't really even know what to make of it."

[Your flaw isn't made for this. Let me take control… unless you don't trust me, that is.]

He finished flatly. Sunny was a little unnerved but gave permission. After earning a few confused glances from Nephis, his body moved a little strangely.

Nephis gripped her sword and cautiously eyed him. Cracking his knuckles and stretching, Pleiades took control. He looked at the two and cleared his throat.

"Well, this went poorly. Who cares? Greetings, friends. It is I, Pleiades, the shadow that stalks through history, the one from beyond the fog of history. It is a pleasure to meet you in my normal attitude, Lady Changing Star and Song of the Fallen."

Nephis tilted her head before her newly put-on stoic expression turned into a confused frown. Cassie seemed equally confused.

"Now that the pleasantries are out of the way, it is about time we make our way to the statue I was previously on. Oh, and I am very sorry for not introducing myself properly before."

Nephis let her sword fall slightly before posing a question. "What?"

Pleiades gave her a confused look before clearing his throat once more.

"What else? We need to make it to the Bright Castle. The leader there is quite troublesome, and killing him would greatly benefit me and the rest of the people there."

Pausing for a moment, he looked to the west and smiled. "But first, we need to take down a demon, in the interest of keeping everything the way it's meant to be."

A/N: This is probably the shortest chapter i'll ever post, this weeks been busy so now the chapters should start picking up.

In two or three chapters i should have it at about 2000+ words.
