 I was hunched over the bed where Mila laid, still out cold, with a bandage tied around her head, her breathing was steady and so was the monitor.

 My hand covered her pale one, she looked entirely different from her healthy self, the natural tan was gone, it was an awful sight to behold.

 The doctor only allowed one visitor at a time in the patient room and Robbie insisted on waiting outside.

 I was in deep slumber to have missed that, the doctor was sparing my feelings and reserved his words assuring me that she would be fine.

 Shadow materialized but maintained an ample distance, lingering by the wall, its eyes reduced and I swore I could see remorse.

 It was alive but committed errors as well, it struck me that the last thing I felt was anger, it evaporated by the second even if I wanted to be angry.
