Shadow of the Abyss

The Old Gods are gone. Lost and Forgotten, their honor shattered and their kingdoms broken by treachery. The Peace of the Myriad Heavens has been severed. And from the ashes of war and chaos, the Twin Towers of Babel have been created as a beacon of hope. Can Altair, a child born of the Old Gods whose name has long since been forgotten, survive, or will he be cast into the Nine Hells? *** "So..." The Chimera II

With his grimoire in hand, Altair stepped out from behind the stalagmite, unleashing a spell he had gained from Archeon that appeared in his grimoire the moment his mission had been completed. Altair had been looking for a target to use it on but never had the chance despite practicing for a few hours a day.

He pointed towards Jay with a smile.

"Infernal Bane."

Suddenly, as if his words carried magic onto itself, a flash of a scarlet Magical Circle flickered off the boy's finger, burning with writhing hate. The spell took off as a crimson sword forged of mana formed above the man's head.

The Sword dropped from the skies, piercing through the man's head. A scream so deep, so dark, shook the depths of the cave, sending ripples through the melted snow as veins protruded throughout the man's flesh and eyes. As if maggots were worming their way through Jay's flesh, eating him alive, he dropped to his knees, trembling as if caught by a seizure.
