CHAPTER 40 Boss

As I looked at the latest blue box his smile only widened.

Ow… ow… ow… God that hurts..." I was moaning in pain as I cleaned my wounds and they are healing at a pretty good speed. Once the adrenaline ran out and he came down from his battle high, I felt the painful effects of the cuts all over his body.

"Damn, that hurts. If I see those little cats again, I'm gonna skin them…"

'Then again I did inflict many more wounds on myself not because I am a masochist, no hell no I did it in hopes of getting regeneration skill yet I still haven't got it.  

"Hy- Hyungnim are you Ok," asked Yoo Jinho while running towards me. He had wide eyes when he saw how many wounds I had and how fast they were recovering.  

"Yes I am fine" I replied to him and he sighs in relief with a smile he started to pick up the bodies of dead Dire Saber tooth Tigers.  

Once he collected them all in front of me I stored them all in my inventory where 5 of the most powerful of the Dire Saber tooth Tigers would turn into shadow minions while the remaining ones would be sold to the market… 

Giving me the best value.

Soon we started our journey again,  and it didn't take us long to find a huge mansion inside a labyrinth. 

We stood in front of a huge building.

A mystery that breaks down conventional common sense and laws.

Kira finally walked to the entrance of the mansion.

Soon the ground began to shake violently.

The gates of the boss room are being opened.

We already made the plans. Because I only sensed a very strong but a single presence inside I knew there was the boss alone. By his 

presence alone I am also sure that he is huge so he shouldn't be faster than me, especially with the boosts.

So plans were simple Yoo Jinho will keep as much distance from Boss as possible.

As we walked we both remained silent.

On the way there though, I found six distinct different sculptures of Minotaur, Dragon, Oni, Hydra, Basilisk, and Chimera, and I found this deeply disturbing but remained quiet as I didn't want to jinx it.

I walked up to the stair calmly and then pushed the doors open though he noted that the door weighed like a ton but he still proceeded.

Inside he saw a large hallway similar to og Sung Jin-Woo's but the only difference he could make was that instead of armored knights coming toward me, 

I saw a huge two. Two-story building huge, more than five meters tall, A spirit creature with a cow's head and a human body. with jet black hide, red horns, boulder-like muscles, and wearing full plate armor that's somewhat small for his size, making it seem like light armor. He is an imposing and fearsome being whose image, his presence was capable of terrifying even high-rank hunters. 

A Minotaur. Just like the sculptures I saw in the hallway.

And how can I forget about the huge axe and sword behind his back, and both weapons looked like they were of fine quality, which meant they were equipped with their own effects and attack power.

"You know… I would've definitely preferred armored knights to this thing," I complained lightly as I popped my neck and then took out my Daggers.

The ground started shaking and several meters in front of us I could see the Minotaur rising from the platform he was sitting on of And standing glaring at me, 

As I felt something wash over my body before it turned into normal as I looked at the window that appeared in front of me. 

[Enemy skill "Glare" paralyzes the player.]

The player resistance and level are too High. The Effect Was Cancelled.]

I see, So this is how it feels when you get hit by a debuffs skill. 

As I was just thinking, a huge axe was lodged towards my head.

It was a fine axe that could be 2m long... … if there was someone else. There would have been nothing to check.

I turned slightly to avoid it.

So I cast Sharpness and Weapon Strengthening on both of my daggers just by his magical presence I am sure even these daggers won't be enough. 

You won't be able to scratch it with normal weapons that were sold in hunters' markets. 

Among the relics, only a few specials could pierce his skin.

pounding! pounding!

My heart was beating fast.

Nerves all over the body were jolted.

At the same time.

thud! thud! thud! thud!

I was approached by the end of the dark passageway.

And at a very fast pace too.

"Koooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo"

"This guy is the boss of this labyrinth."

"Woah, whoa, whoa!"

"What is that!"

"What the hell happened to the B- rank dungeon, here? It's in the B-rank gate."

Yoo Jinho said as he felt the intense magical energy from the beast. 

Boo woo woo!

The minotaur swung the huge axe in his hand.

kwaaang!

One blow left a huge scar on the rock.

The wall collapsed, and a cloud of smoke rose.

Even if it was rubbed, the fragile human flesh would surely become a rag.

But right then.

percussion!

I ran towards him. I don't want to put Yoo Jinho into danger so I approached him. 

Forward.

Exactly in front of the Minotaur.

"Koooh!"

The Minotaur grabbed the axe with both hands.

and lifted it high.

An attack that hits the top of the head... ….

Again I turned slightly to avoid it.

Aww!

The pitiful ground was shattered.

And that moment. I slammed my foot on the shattered ground and cast the spell "Shockwave"

The ground shape changed, the lightning traveled around me, and the next instant the beast froze up before he started to move again.  

As I got the notification that The enemy resistance is too High. The Effect Was Cancelled.

I knew this would occur so I was paired for it as a huge earth lance enhanced with sharpness and weapon strengthening directly tried to pierce through his foot but it barely got even an inch deeper before it broke down.  

As the Minotaur looked at me with an angry face as he was about to swing his axe but he got showered by different elemental arrows.  

And not even a single arrow was able to penetrate its skin before being destroyed. And the wounds he got were healing "So he has high magic resistance with regeneration my bad luck."

As I saw his skin took a glow and turned into shades of red and black.  

My Minotaur eyes widened realizing he just used another skill, he came towards me speed nearly breaking Sound Barrier easily, I quickly covered and put my Daggers in front of the upcoming attack, and using counter I deflected his attack, but the force of his attack made my hand a bit numb and the ground below me cracked.

I quickly made some distance between us and thankfully my agility was higher compared to his. which made me able to go twice as fast as him if I gave my all, 

Minotaur chased me at a rapid pace but with my superior agility, I dodged his attacks and continued making some distance between us. Finally, I stopped and cast my spells, Call Thunder Call Thunder Call Thunder Call Thunder...,  Water Blade, Water Blade, Water Blade, Water Blade..…, Fireball, Fireball, Fireball….. 

"Zzzzz Zzzzz Zzzzz Zzzzz, Swiss Swiss Swiss Swiss, Boom boom Boom Boom"

As numbers of lightning bolts Water Blades Fireball.  Fall on him creating huge shockwaves and blast power released so much heat that walls and the floor melted.  

"*Roarrrrrrrrrr*",

But to my shock, I felt he didn't have any serious injuries and the wounds he got were healing at rapid peace. And this was the cries of pain. No, this was an indication that he was furious. I  had sweat rolling down my face. The presence of the enemy boss was on a completely different level than the others.

I blinked for only a split second but when he opened my eyes I saw a fist headed straight for my head. The great Minotaur blasted my head into bits. The next second, my body was gone from there.  

I had cold sweat running down my neck as I looked at the scene from a distant place. 'His speed increased so he used some kind of speed boost skill. 'If I had been late in using the Sprint for even a fraction of a second, I'd be dead right now.'

The bull lowered its fist and turned around. It looked at me without showing the slightest bit of surprise at what happened.

'It found me even though I'm using Sealth there is no sound made… And it looks like this thing is much smarter than the rest. A direct confrontation isn't to my advantage. Not like last time. And something tells me this thing won't just let me leave… If and when I make it out of this labyrinth I'm gonna need to start the ritual and build up mana and clear the class quest ASAP.'

'Stealth and speed will be my greatest assets in this fight. Instead of a frontal assault, I'll use an encirclement attack strategy.'

I was suddenly taken out of his thoughts as the black king landed right in front of me, I barely evaded the giant fist that came my way. Tightening the grip on my daggers I used 'sprint' and started attacking from all directions.

The king Minotaur had a strong physique. The cuts I inflicted on its body were shallow and healed rapidly. It swung its long arms with enough force to blow apart a giant sturdy building. I evaded all the attacks aimed at me. Tired of not catching the enemy, it tried a different tactic.

The Minotaur raised both its arms high in the air and then slammed them into the ground. It added mana to enhance its already fearsome power. The strength behind the attack cracked and ruptured the ground for several meters in all directions with the bull at its centre.

I, who was in the middle of attacking it, was caught off guard by the destruction and the ruptured ground made me lose my balance. The Minotaur, waiting for its chance, jumped and attacked. A swift powerful fist was thrown at me.

It was only due to his increased senses and speed that I was able to evade the attack. But even then I was not completely successful. The punch clipped my right shoulder and sent me spiralling several feet away. Even though I evaded most of the damage it was still enough to dislocate his right arm.

[-840 HP]

The red notification status popped up showing the damage. I crashed into the ground and rolled a few times before stopping myself. I didn't even get the time to scream in pain as the bull was already on me. I rolled out of the way as the giant monkey stomped where I was a second ago.

I got up and ran up the walls that started to shit, as the labyrinth was changing. The bull followed. I used 'sprint' and focused solely on escaping for even a few seconds. With one arm useless I would die if I tried to fight it.

After a minute of dashing through the ever-changing landscape and using some of his smoke mist, I lost the enemy and I quickly assessed my arm.

'Damn that fucking bull…' I looked over my arm. 'There doesn't seem to be any serious damage except for the dislocation. But it's a good thing I know how to fix it.'

I bit down on the handle of my dagger and then held and adjusted my right arm in a certain way. I then rammed my arm into the wall, snapping my shoulder joint back in its socket.

"Ghnnn…." I bit down hard and groaned into the dagger. After several seconds the pain faded and I took several deep breaths. The negative buff notification disappeared. And my Hp was regenerating, I gently started moving my arm. After a couple of seconds, he was able to move it as normal.

I could hear the roars of the dungeon boss not far from where the fight began. I made a few preparations for my second round.

I started slowly making my way back. And once the Minotaur saw me he instantly charged towards me.
