Anna woke up late the next morning because they only slept at dawn. Her body was still exhausted from all the attention her husband gave her last night.

Lexus was not beside her so she thought he probably went to work. 

But then, she recalled it was Sunday. And Lexus said that he would not go to work for a week.

Anna heard Nigel's laughter from the living room. She wrapped herself in a robe to check on her son.

She had gotten used to seeing her son's face first thing in the morning.

A smile crossed her face when she saw Lexus playing with Nigel. No wonder Nigel was having such a hearty laugh.

She watched the two for a while before deciding to take a bath while her son hadn't noticed her yet. If Nigel sees her there, he would surely try climbing up the stairs. 

Their stairway had a gate that they always locked. They had the gate installed since the last time that Nigel tried climbing up the stairs.
