Chapter 5 - A mess

Finally!

The Gods have finally given us a chance, and I would finally be able to see fire once again. Ah, what bliss! I'm so happy I could cry. No! I need to show some seriousness in front of these glorious beings, or else they will discard us once again!

''Oh, glorious beings, we, miserable heretics, pathetic individuals that dared sin against your graces, we, the Ketzer, want to show our gratitude for giving us mercy!'' I pleaded in front of the Gods, making sure that my head was completely on the ground.

''Ah, well, I stand corrected then. Who would have thought that some fools still possess a brain?'' I hear a mocking voice coming from one of the Gods. We did not respond to it; the Gods have the right to mock us.

''Welcome, forsaken. We, the Great Gods, have all decided to give you the opportunity to be forgiven. Be thankful.'' Expressed a God with a regal voice. ''Now, I'm sure you're all wondering, 'what should we do to earn your forgiveness?' but be not worried, I shall get to that soon enough. But first, we would like to know why you sinned against us?''

''We are terribly sorry that we…

''Stop. We do not need excuses; we want answers.'' Responded to me the regal voice. 

*Gulp*''We… we do not remember why, we do not even remember when we sinned.''

''Lie, how could you possibly forget when you committed the biggest treason against us and not even remember it.'' The same mocking voice from before.

''It's true, we do not remember anything.'' I responded with a calm tone.

''Do you really think we would beli…

''He is telling the truth.'' Said another God, but I could hear from his voice that he was surprised.

''What? Seriously? Well, that's two times I've been wrong today, not a pleasant feeling. Even more when it's about heretics.''

''Calm down, Daulatpur, the less you talk, the less you have to stay there.''

''Tch, fine.''

''Good. Now, let's go back to where we were. So, you said you remember anything about betraying us? That's strange, but it doesn't matter, you will still have to pay us back for your sin.''

''Yes, your magnificence.'' I responded.

''So, now let me explain your tasks. Each one of you will be sent to our mortal domain as monsters, and you will all have the task to become the strongest monster to dominate all of them. Then, when this task is accomplished, you will order all of them to fight against each other, for eternity.'' The voice said to us.

''Uh, sorry to interrupt your magnificence, but may I ask a question?'' Asked Zephyr before being instantly grabbed by a bird talon!

''YOU PEST!!! HOW DARE YOU!!! YOU CAN ONLY LISTEN TO US!!! THE ONLY REASON YOU CAN OPEN YOUR WORTHLESS MOUTH IS TO SING PRAISE ABOUT ME!'' Screamed the assailant, a multicolored bird, the God of Wind. ''So now, to pay back that affront, I'm going to make you sing.''

He said that before violently smashing Zephyr on the ground. 

*BAM*

''AAAAAH!'' Screamed Zephyr out of pain.

''Not enough''

 *BAM* *BAM* *BAM* 

''AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!''

''Daulatpur, stop!'' Screamed a powerful voice.

''Ah? Why should I?''

''Because if you continue to do this, too much of your Divinity will enter his body, making the plan useless!''

''But I don't care about the plan, my situation is already fine, and you each have your own forsaken. I will take this one, and I will use him as I see fit, which is, making him sing.'' Responded the God of the wind before smashing Zephyr once again against the floor. BAM

''So, is there a pro… *Smak* ''Uh?'' Daulatpur exclaimed with a puzzled face.

The room was thrown into silence; the Gods were too shocked to speak. But it didn't matter; I simply walked to the bloody body of Zephyr that was replaced by Daulatpur.

''Did… did… did this mortal…punch me?'' murmured Daulatpur, still in shock.

''Are you okay?'' I asked Zephyr. *Cough* *Cough* ''Yes… I'm fine'' He responded to me with difficulty. I learned that this meant he was not fine, so I held him in my arms and directed toward my family. But before arriving, I turned myself to the God of wind and said:

''You're a God, not a child, so stop acting like one.''

… I could see that even my friends were shocked by my action; I suppose that's normal. I just punched a god after all.

''YOU INSOLENT WRETCH!!!'' Screamed Daulatpur before diving into me. I was ready to protect the body of my brother when suddenly…

*BOOM*

The body of the God of wing was sent flying toward a wall; he was punched there by an immense beast made of fire.

''HAHAHA!!!'' Laughed the beast.

''ORION!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!'' Screamed Daulatpur before standing up from the rubble, looking quite angry.

''Haha, I'm doing as I please, and this kid got some guts! There's no way I'm not taking him!'' Said Orion with a joyous voice.

But I didn't hear what they've been saying; I was captivated by the beauty of the god; its fire was magnificent! Worthy of all the praise imaginable! Its colors were of a shiny golden melange with a crimson red! Such a combination was the best one I've ever seen… Oooohhh, how glorious! If only I could get burned by it! Oh!? The fire was approaching me; maybe my wish will be… WAKE UP! This is not the time to admire this… magnificent fi… WAKE UP!!

I only had the chance to throw Zephyr to my family when I was caught by Orion.

''You're going with me'' He exclaimed, before opening a portal made of fire and diving right into it.

''What a mess.'' Lamented Adam. ''Well, I suppose you can just grab the one you want, just do the explanation yourselves.'' He said before standing up from his throne and grabbing Angela.

''LIGHT!!!'' She exclaimed with joy before entering the portal from Adam.

''Tch, whatever.'' Said Daulatpur while catching Zephyr's bloody body of the ground and opening his own portal.

The room was thrown into silence once again, with just Atlantique and Kepler in the room with two forsaken.

I suppose we've given you a bad first impression, sorry about that.'' Apologized Atlantique.

''What! No, forgive our older brother for his impudence; he is just not right in the head, but he is a great person!'' Quickly expressed Oceana while Clay was approving with his head.

''Older brother? From what I understood, you were not related at all; none of you is even from the same race.'' Questioned Kepler.

''Well, when we were forsaken, he was the one that gave us hope. Without him, we would have probably lost our minds, so we're ever grateful for that. But it also caused us to see him as an older brother because we knew we could always rely on him, no matter our worries. And when he learned that, he decided to call ourselves a family. So he gave each of us a name, and at that moment, we realized we couldn't trust his naming sense. So we did it ourselves, and one thing led to another, and we've become the Ketzer family… AH! SORRY FOR BEING SO DISRESPECTFUL TOWARD YOU!'' Screamed Oceana while deeply bowing toward the Gods, Clay doing the same.

''At ease, we do not mind. The story was quite entertaining, but we have better things to do, so you girl, Oceana, isn't it? Come with me.'' Said calmly Atlantique while opening a portal and traversing it with Oceana running toward it.

Kepler simply looked at Clay, the last one left, and opened the portal beneath him. He looked at a corner of the room with a serious expression before jumping into the portal himself.
