Suzanne Trent was graceful and eloquent in conversation, smiling just the right amount. Lady King couldn't find fault with her, but her eyes still did not show any intention of accepting Suzanne. Without waiting for Emma to greet Suzanne formally, she directly asked Mason King, "Have you been busy these past couple of days?"
Thus, the conversation between Suzanne and Emma was cut short.
Lady King had no intention of letting her precious daughter interact too much with such an ambiguous outsider, nor was there any necessity for it.
Suzanne's smile remained unchanged and uninfluenced by emotion. Emma responded courteously with a nod to Suzanne, having no intention of saying anything else.
Mason responded indifferently, "Certainly busy, and Suzanne is too. But since you rarely return to the country, we must find the time to visit together. We'll leave tomorrow morning."
