Mason King walked back, looked at the pitiful little fellow with red eyes, and hooked his lips: "Has Mommy ever told you that you can't sleep with strange men or boys?"
Abigail Trent hugged the white teddy bear, the light of anticipation that had just risen in her eyes instantly dimmed, and she looked at him grievously but didn't speak.
Mommy had indeed told her.
"Sleep here, I'll sit next to you and pat you to sleep." Seeing the tears in Abigail's red eyes, Mason's heart softened, and he took the teddy bear from her arms and placed it beside the pillow: "Lie down and sleep."
"Okay!"
Abigail immediately smiled, sniffed her tear-reddened little nose, and quickly lay down.
She stretched out a little hand from under the blanket to grab Mason's big hand, as if afraid he would suddenly walk away, blinking her big eyes and sensibly asked, "Uncle, aren't you going to sleep? Are you not sleepy?"
