Chapter 57.

Emily's POV

As he blurts out his question, everyone starts looking around for the person he was addressing. Two options then cross my mind, to turn away and pretend the dance is not with me, or to resign myself to becoming a focus of attention and approach him.

"What are you doing here?" Unfortunately, I went for the second option.

"Come on that's not the way to receive me little girl" The mocking tinge in our conversations was already something natural of our coexistence and to which I was getting used to gradually however, this was not the pertinent moment for me to employ it.

Not when all eyes were on me, scanning me up and down as if they were going to get information out of me just by looking at me.

"I asked you a question Nathan" My expression must have been one of a thousand devils. The brown-haired guy's surprises were something I definitely didn't appreciate but he was determined to keep setting the bar higher and higher.
