Deev River
The day before, after telling them what had happened with the marble, the woman had elicited information from the helmis about the route they had taken to reach the island.
According to them, they had to cross several rivers, but only one was dangerous: the Deev River.
This was born at the top of the Gerda Mountains, so the water temperature was very low. If someone fell into it, it would only take about four minutes for them to start suffering from hypothermic symptoms.
The riverbed was quite wide, the currents very fast, and, in addition, it was full of large and sharp rocks that could destroy any raft that collided with them.
Crossing it was a race against time. And the longer it took, the more dangerous the situation would be for them.
