Regain

Why does everything feel so funny to me? Just when I realised I was probably been possessed by the Gridge from earlier, I gasp and sit up straight.

My eyes are open but the black blobs block my else perfect vision. I repeatedly shake my head and stop abruptly when I catch the scent of my mate.

Jane is here!?

I force my body to feel any human or wolf around, calling her name out in weak attempts. I hate feeling weak.

"Hey hey hey! Ron! I'm right here!" I hear distant footsteps patter on the ground and feel the scent grow in a sense. I immediately clutch her hand in mine and my rods and cones finally get set to aid my vision.

"Oh Jane..." I look at her with big, worrisome eyes, but she gives me back her own eye smile and kisses my nose.

"We're safe...I guess. For now." she stabs her index to the white circle around the car.

Oh.

"It's been around this car since we've sped up on the highway." she says, getting inside the car and locking it.

"How'd you feel now?"

"Better. Under you care." I take both her hands in mine and kiss them appreciatively.

"What happened though? I don't quite remember anything after I've passed out." I say lamely and her smile falls.

Um...wrong time?

"Well...I carried you back to the car and called my father. He's sent a set of witches our way and have examined the area where you've created and opened the portal to the underground. They said it was impossible to close it with the elemental being weak. So they suggested for us to drive away somewhere safe, near the lake." she ends it with a shy smile.

Wha—

Oh. My lord...

I see...

"You've changed my clothes..." she subtly nods at me, her nervous gesture of setting her loose hair strand behind her ear displaying.

My cheeks grow red too...

"Uh...um...thank you, Jane. But I would've preferred you rather leave me in the suit and—" I've been silenced by her sweet lips crashing on mine.

My uncomfortable position morphs into a dominant one as she straddles me, sitting on my lap. My bare skin prickles under her touch as she draws her hands all over my chest. She enjoys the slight bumps of my skin because of her effect on me.

"You— you have to recharge..." she broke the kiss and whispered on my lips.

"I just did." I respond, a bit cheekily which makes her head turn to the right and blush profusely under my gaze, her bottom lip stuck between her teeth as she nibbles on it.

I wanna nibble on it too...

When I wanted to fulfill my desire, she pushes me back to the seat and says,

"You have to close the portal." ugh.

Portal. Damn you.

I close my parted lips and take a deep breath, mostly her scent invading my lungs and she opens the door and climbs out of the car, beckoning me out.

"Come on." she helps me out of the car.

The funny basketball shorts is the only clothing I feel on my skin, not that I'm conscious or anything but I do feel the need to touch Jane in ways to please my wolf.

All my muscles are sore and speak up their complaints when I step foot on the fresh, wild grass. Jane stands concerned behind me and is quick to reach out when I lose balance and stumble suddenly.

"I'm fine, darling. I just need a moment." I say. I love how comfortable we both feel already into our relationship. I've seen couples being so shy and anxious around each other for the first few weeks, but we seem different.

I stand in the my place for awhile, inhaling and exhaling the fresh, crisp air of the morning. This morning though...we should've been resting in our car or on the bed. But here we are, all because of that damn Gridge.

"Alright..." I breath out, taking slow steps down towards the lake.

I request Jane to stay behind, just in case my powers become too much for the other's wolf's body to take in. And the last thing on my mind is to hurt Jane, as I said.

A minute later, I find myself stood upright on the brink of the lake, the water surface touching the tip of my toes.

I close my eyes, tightly, summoning my water powers. It was always easy to recharge through the water, always. The element was a strange one to be handled, but the most effectively and worked when things went incredibly wrong at some points of time.

The water in the lake rises up in the air, swirling in the midst as I keep summoning them, pray to them.

I don't flinch when the large wave splashes onto my levitating figure, for obvious reasons being me already used to all these little tricks of recharging.

Oh, I do feel refreshed...

I smile unconsciously, the sore feelings in each and every muscle of mine dripping off my body with the retracting drops of water.

My body is left completely dry and fresh, the feeling I love.

I turn around and find my girl looking over at me with wide, petrified eyes.

I chuckle at her expression and walk closer to her, caressing her cheek.

"This is meant to be nothing, baby girl. There's always more about me that's going to amaze you. Just you wait." I say and wink cheekily, earning a very nice tomato face of Jane to watch.

We set off to the location again.

I'm still not quite sure about the portal getting closed properly, because that was the last thing I remember doing before I've passed out.
