Swooshing and swaying around on the lone dance floor has become very interesting after around ten minutes.
Jane's head was resting on my chest and we followed the slow, passive rhythm of the music. It was blissful, and it felt utterly nice.
"Hey cutie..." Jane delicately lifts her head slightly and looks at me through her lashes.
Ugh, would you please stop being so beautiful? You've been driving me insane since forever, Jane darling.
"Let's go." she subtly nods at my proposal. We get down from the dance floor and walk back to the table where the bill sits. The robot opens its own shelf and pulls out a card machine. The payments are done with a swipe and we proceed to leave the building.
"Wow. How did you—"
"I know what you're going to ask, Jane. It's your father's money." I grin and stick my tongue out like a notorious kid. She laughs it off and gets into the car. I walk back to my side and enter the car, and we are on the road again.
The fact that I know how to drive but am sitting in the backseat is eating me up. The next destination was set to a small but famous studio in the city which offers free space for a couple of people to watch movies in private.
This event was planned, and somehow, I got the DVDs too.
DVDs for what exactly?
I'll tell you.
"Stop right here. And mister, you can go home, I'll be right here with the princess. I'll inform the King too."
"As you wish, sir." The chauffeur leaves after I say. I take the keys from him and place it in my pocket, taking Jane's hand in mine and walking towards the booth.
"Receipt?"
"Yes. Here you go." I show him the ticket and he allows me in.
"You are free to use this studio for exactly three hours. I'll return back at five pm sharp. Until then, have fun." he informed and left. It was a safe fact that no one else knew how the princess looked like other than the palace workers and the guards. Although, they did have a strict rule to not reveal the features of their one and only princess else they will be heavily punished.
"Alright. It's all ours till five pm." I breath and look around for a projector. Jane, pretty confused about my intentions, walks straight ahead and takes a seat right in the middle of the stadium.
Aha, there it is.
I find the door to the screen room, jumping towards it and opening it to enter inside. I find the projector there, an open DVD player connected to it.
"Well I hope this does work." I pray, indirectly commenting on how shabby and dusty it looks.
"Ron, where are you?" I hear the muffled concerned voice call me out.
"I'll be there in a minute, honey!" I respond and pray this thing works right away.
Yes!
Alright, the DVD is set to play. I click in the monitor to project it on the big screen and check the screen outside from the square slit in the room.
Oh yeah! It's working!
The names scrolled on the screen, very familiar ones to Jane.
I giggle and jog outside, shutting the door behind me and immediately taking a seat next to Jane.
"Wait, that's dad's name! And mom?" she says out and I chuckle.
She mumbles a few other names she found on the screen, and the scrolling ends. The background music starts pretty smoothly, zooming in into soft beats and the movie starts.
The movie of Jane De Cruz's life story...
I watch to my side as her eyes widen gradually, recognizing the baby crying on the screen.
"It's...it's me..."
It sure is you, beautiful.
I chuckle at her reaction when she watches her first smile being recorded by her father, her laying sweetly on her mother's chest.
"Who's the happiest baby? Who's the happy baby??" The young version of the King cooes on the camera and the baby girl Jane giggles continuously, reaching out her arms for her father's beard.
We both giggle when the king slightly yells as the camera now shows a baby's hand in a tuft of beard, tugging on it with her weight.
The clip cuts out to a three year old baby Jane, blowing out on candles after wishing innocently.
"I wished for a happy life that day." Jane says beside me. I give her a proud smile and caress her hair, moving the hand-rest behind us and laying her head on my chest. Her hand lands straight on my heart, and I know she's enjoying what she's sensing. The memories and my heartbeat.
The next clip shows a teenage Jane, seeming very notorious whilst running through corridors. The man behind the camera is exhausted, and suddenly falls to his knees.
"That's...grandpa." her body tenses slightly.
"Oh?" The early teenage Jane's voice was heard in the studio, eerie silence follows afterwards. The panting of the old man was heard again and little Jane takes the camera from him, holding it down, not knowing how to switch it off.
"I won't be h-here for a long time, sweetie pie." The old man said, voice sounding very weak.
"Then let's make them memorable, grandpa." little Jane responds wisely. Her response made my heart burn in pride and content. She's really the most beautiful woman, inside out.
I kiss her forehead sweetly and look at a stray tear sliding down her cheek. I wipe it for her and say,
"I am the most luckiest man on earth, Jane. Thank you for existing."
"No. I'm the lucky woman to have you by my side, Ron. This, everything...it means so much to me. Thank you too." she initiates the move and lean down to connect our lips together.
But there's more to come, Princess. The day hast even ended yet.
There's more...there's always more than impossible I'd do for you because you deserve everything good, my love.
