82 Leviatys
When Nova opened up his eyes, he found himself and Mune in a forest that was lit brightly blue by the moon's light cascading over a lake.
『Blue Moon Forest. The target is the subjugation of a rank 7 Leviatys, an aquatic dragon beast. You will give me support.』[Mune]
『A rank 7?! But… Isn't that really?!』[Nova]
『You don't have to come if you don't want to.』[Mune]
He began to walk off.
「If a rank 5 Grelegigan is enough to kill me, wouldn't this thing be so much worse?!」[Nova]
Nova walked after him, despite his best ideas.
『...Then?!』[Nova]
『...We'll see. Let's go.』[Mune]
Mune began to run closer to the lake.
『Ah! Wait up!』[Nova]
Mune suddenly stopped when he had reached the shore of the lake.
Nova caught up, but was out of breath.
『Haah...Haah… Why did you stop, Mune?』[Nova]
Mune mumbled something under his breath and darkness seemed to coalesce from his surroundings and form in front of him.
It formed a pitch black blade and sheath.
He placed the sword by his waist and it floated around with him.
Immediately, he began to run across the water.
『Huh?! What?! How are you-?!』[Nova]
『Either focus mana at the base of your feet or create a solid magical circle under your feet!』[Mune]
『Ah-ah?! I'll try!』[Nova]
Seeing Mune run across the water, Nova scrambled to do the same.
He focused mana into his feet and attempted to start a sprint across the water.
As a result, Nova dove straight into the water and got soaked.

He felt the mana protect the bottom of his soles from getting wet, but it didn't do anything for the rest of his body.
Mune looked back at Nova, the wind revealing his eyes- looking back at Nova.
He looked ethereal, with the moon casting his shadow onto Nova and the wind blowing through his hair.
He opened his mouth to speak, but although Nova didn't hear him, he could understand what he said.
『Aren't you coming?』
Nova felt the urge to use Area to catch up, but he felt a strange challenge from Mune's eyes.
He grit his teeth and began to concentrate his mana at his feet.
『...I am!』[Nova]
A giant magical circle began to form under Nova's feet.
He kicked it, causing a giant eruption of force to gather at the bottom of the lake.
Mune looked back and didn't see Nova in the water anymore.
『...Where did he…?』[Mune]
A loud screaming came from the sky.
『WOOOOOAH! LEAD THE WAY, MUNE!』[Nova]
He was being sent flying through the sky.
『...He broke and used a Wave circle as his base, huh?』[Mune]
Mune couldn't help but reveal a smile before he started running across the water.
Nova had a lot of things going on while following Mune.
「I inverted a Wave circle and let the force of the blast carry me into the sky, but I'm not sure how to go from here!」[Nova]
He started to begin to fall.
He formed another circle and broke it in midair, causing him to gain another burst of forward and upward momentum.
『...I think I'm onto something!』[Nova]
He looked around at the night sky and forest around them.
Below him was a vibrant green and blue lake and forest.
「...The heights are kinda scary...」[Nova]
Looking down at Mune, Nova found that he had finally stopped on a small island in the lake.
『Area!』[Nova]
A hole appeared under Nova and shot him up next to Mune.
『...Good job. Are you ready?』[Mune]
Nova was caught off guard by the praise, but nodded.
Mune nodded and raised his hand into the sky and began to speak.
『Eclipsing Heavenly Vortex.』[Mune]
He clenched his hand shut and pulled the hand back down.
A gigantic black orb appeared in the sky before expanding to the size of a meteor.
There was a moment of silence before anything happened.
Mune glanced over to Nova, who was a bit fidgety.
『You did a good job keeping up. If you ever feel in danger, run away.』[Mune]
Nova didn't expect this side of Mune at all.
『...Than-』[Nova]
Before he got to finish his sentence, the large black ball in the sky condensed instantly and shot a beam into the water.
『Take cover.』[Mune]
Mune grabbed his sword's sheath and stuck it into the ground.
A bunch of black blades and sharp attacks poked out of the water.
Pressurized jets of water shot out along with jets of wind.
An overwhelming amount of noise erupted from the water.
『Reischneid!』[Nova]
The hilt formed in a flash of fire and Nova grabbed it before sticking it into the ground.
Mune glanced over again and gave a nod of approval.
『...Mm? Not bad.』[Mune]
The black attacks finally concluded and the water became agitated.
Suddenly, a blue and green colored beast rose out of the water.
It was about half the size of the Grelegigan, poking out of the water.
『Here is the Leviatys. Don't die.』[Mune]
The beast had a dragon like face, two arms, and many tendrils that emerged out of the water.
It raised its arm and prepared to smash down on the two of them.
Mune jumped up and landed on its arm and proceeded to run up it while the arm kept moving toward Nova.
『Area!』[Nova]
A giant Area portal appeared in front of the arm, causing it to reappear from another portal that attacked the Leviatys on the back of the head.
『GRAAAAAAAAAAAH?!』
Mune made it up next to Leviatys' neck and grabbed hold of his sword.
An array of magical circles appeared in front of him, which he swiftly cut with his sword before quickly resheathing.
When the sword made the clinking noise of the hilt touching the sheath, a giant flurry of sword Waves came flying out of the circles and slammed into the Leviatys' neck, causing profuse bleeding.
『GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW!』
Suddenly, the Leviatys jumped high up into the air, carrying Mune with it.
Somehow, Mune stood still upside down on the Leviatys, but seemed to be watching for Nova's move.
「?! What can I do?!」[Nova]
He analyzed the situation in his mind as fast as he could.
「If I use Inferno Purgatory, I'll hurt Mune. If I use Area, Mune will be sent with it. I can't use Blessed Flame Rebirth here...」[Nova]
He gripped Reischneid.
「There's only one thing to do.」[Nova]
He raised up Reischneid and pointed the sword toward the Leviatys.
『Go!』[Nova]
The sword rushed out at the beast and met contact with its skin.
『...It's tougher than expected!』[Nova]
After pouring in a large quantity of mana, it somehow managed to find its way into the flesh of the beast.

Once the blade was inside, it had a much easier time growing.
Before long, the veins of the beast were filled with Reischneid's blades.

Mune jumped high into the sky, gripping his katana.
The blades inside of the Leviatys suddenly splintered with spikes, similar to how Sarena's Inferno Purgatory splintered the earth.
The veins exploded with fire and heat.
『...BEGONE!』[Nova]
The area of flesh Nova penetrated with the sword exploded, causing greenish-blue blood to cover the area and the Leviatys to fall onto the ground in front of Nova.
He fell to his knees, almost completely out of mana and breath.
『...Is it done?』[Nova]
Suddenly, some movement appeared in front of Nova.
The Leviatys opened up its mouth and a bright blue magical circle was etched into his mind.
『A magic circle?!』[Nova]
The intricate lines were engraved into his mind as he raised his arm against it.
