『Hah.. I'm really an idiot, aren't I?』[Rai]

『Yeah. You used Extend, but your plan kinda flopped.』[Nova]

『..I lost. Again.』[Andrew]

The group of friends were walking to their classes, and Leo and Jack had already left.

『Alright, here's my class. I'll see you all later.』[Rai]

『Yeah. See you later man.』[Nova]

『Same table for lunch?』[Andrew]

『Yeah. Later!』[Rai]

Nova gave Rai a peace sign, as he continued to walk with Andrew.

『Man.. I wonder what's for lunch.』[Nova]

『Dude. You think you'll actually need lunch? You ate so much earlier.』[Andrew]

『Come on, you know that all good mages need to eat good.』[Nova]

『Hahaha! Okay, sure. With how the kitchen spirit treats you, I'm sure you'd want to eat a bunch.』[Andrew]

『She always does so much for me. I wish there was a way to pay her back.』[Nova]

『Why don't you get her something?』[Andrew]

『Well, I'll talk to you later. Here's me.』[Nova]

『Alright. Lunch, then.』[Andrew]

He waved at Andrew, then opened up the door to his class.

Inside of his class was a sparse amount of chairs and desks.

Sitting around were 2 or 3 people who didn't look up when Nova came in.

「Why are there so little desks?」[Nova]

「What do you think mages are? A bunch of chickens? Of course, they're rare. Genesis probably only has about 400-500 people at a time.」[Reischneid]

He looked up at the whiteboard that said "SIT WHEREVER YOU WANT." drawn messily on it.

「Huh. Guess I'll take a window seat.」[Nova]

He went a few rows back and sat down.

A moment later, Anastasia opened the door and looked at the board.

She scanned the room and saw there was an open seat next to Nova, which she immediately seized.

After she took her seat, a flood of students entered the room.

「..Were they waiting for her?」[Nova]

They all gunned for the seats near Anastasia, before settling for other seats around the room.

Moments later, a skinny man with disheveled hair made his appearance from the door.

『...』[???]

He came in and wiped all of the writing off of the board.

『...Call me Reagan.』[Reagan]

Nova wasn't really sure what to expect, but this wasn't it. That's for sure.

『...Today, we will be analyzing-』[Reagan]

A female student at the front of the room cut him off.

『Reagan! Shouldn't we do introductions?』[Student]

『...I already introduced myself.』[Reagan]

『No! I mean student introductions!』[Student]

『...Tomorrow. 』[Reagan]

The female student just sat down, too confused to say anything.

『...Then, like I said, we will be analyzing mana growth techniques.』[Reagan]

He began to draw on the whiteboard.

Nova took out his notebook, much to the surprise of the class.

『The most basic way is to circulate your mana and hope that it eventually fuses together as it moves through your body.』[Reagan]

He drew a straight line with an arrow on the board.

『Then, after you have better control, you can start condensing it into what is called a "Mana Core". It's just an area inside your body where you focus a lot of mana into. This lets you train your mana quality much faster while dropping in capacity. If you want to train capacity, you halt your mana circulation, then as more mana is generated, it forces your capacity to grow. 』[Reagan]

He drew a circle with arrows going into it, and a stop sign with arrows going out.

Nova also drew these in his notebook.

『Then finally, there are many advanced training methods that are assigned to you after you consult me at a higher mana level. But it looks like we're running out of class time. Just send me a message on your ID or something. Can't be bothered.』[Reagan]

The entire class didn't know how to react, save for the one student who was taking notes.

『You. What's your name?』[Reagan]

Nova looked up and realized that he was pointing at Nova.

『Uhm.. Nova.』[Nova]

『Good. You want to be the class president?』[Reagan]

『Nope.』[Nova]

『Tch.』[Reagan]

Reagan was dumbfounded for a moment.

『..Why not?』[Reagan]

『It sounds like a lot of work. I'm just here to get stronger.』[Nova]

He stared at Nova with a strange light in his eyes.

『..What house are you in?』[Reagan]

『No house, sir.』[Nova]

『Oh. I see. Haah… They dumped one of the houseless into my class? At the very least, this will be interesting.』[Reagan]

He scratched the back of his head.

『Alright. Go have lunch or something. Make sure to come back on time. If you're late, we'll proceed to practical training without you.』[Reagan]

『Ah! Wait! Reagan!』[Student]

He quickly left the class.

『..There's still an hour left.』[Student]

Two groups quickly formed on the left side of the classroom.

『AAAAAA! Lady Soryl! I can't believe I'm in the same class as you!』[Student]

『Is it true that you're going out with the "Conqueror"?』[Student]

『...』[Anastasia]

Then, there were the ones talking to Nova.

『Yo! Did you say you were the houseless?!』[Student]

『Uh.. Yeah.』[Nova]

『Woah! That's awesome!』[Student]

『Why is that awesome?』[Nova]

『That means you know all about the outside world!』[Student]

『..Outside?』[Nova]

『The city! The city! Take us around sometime!』[Student]

『Oh. Yeah! Sure!』[Nova]

『Oh yeah! Have you heard of the guy who beat Thean Bayron? The Conqueror?』[Student]

「Looks like they don't know that's me yet...」[Nova]

Nova nodded and had a hard time answering all their questions.

Anastasia, on the other hand- just kept silent, even as she was being bombarded by questions.

But around the classroom, there were still a few students that kept to themselves.

After the bell had rung, they had all went for the cafeteria.

『So, Rai. Anybody notice who you were?』[Nova]

『No. Thank god. They just cared about me not being in a house.』[Rai]

『Hahaha! Now, what for lunch?』[Andrew]

『I'm fine with-』[Nova]

Before Nova could even finish his sentence, a tray of food gently floated over to him.

『...Are you seriously dating the kitchen spirit?』[Rai]

『Yeah. Why not?』[Nova]

『Hahaha! That's a great joke, man.』[Andrew]

『Hahaha!』[Nova]

On the inside, he was slightly sweating.

「...It's not a joke, though..」[Nova]

『Anyways, where are the other two?』[Nova]

『Jack and Leo? That's a good question..』[Rai]

『Well, I'm gonna get my food. I'm not as lucky as Nova, so.. Save the table for us, bro.』[Andrew]

『Yeah. You guys go ahead.』[Nova]

The two went off to brave the long lunch line.

Moments later, Jack and Leo made it into the lunchroom.

『...Jack has a really big mouth.』[Leo]

The two of them had an extremely tired expression.

『What happened?』[Nova]

『We said that we were-』[Jack]

『YOU SAID. NOT ME.』[Leo]

『..I said, that we were friends with the "Conqueror", the guy who fought alongside the "Conqueror", and Anastasia Soryl.』[Jack]

『Okay, so first of all, she doesn't even know you.』[Leo]

『Well, yeah. But she hung out with you all, right?』[Jack]

『No. She hung out with Nova. Big difference, idiot.』[Leo]

『..Sorry.』[Jack]

『So, where are the others?』[Leo]

『Getting food. You should get in line.』[Nova]

Just as Nova said that, he saw Thean getting ready to get in line as well.

A terrible plan appeared in his mind that he felt like he was obligated to follow up with.

『Area.』[Nova]

A large hole appeared under Leo and Jack which placed them right in front of Thean on the floor.

After, Thean just took a few steps back and let it happen.

「That's.. A bit mean, isn't it partner?」[Reischneid]

「Well, he wanted to beat me up for honor. So I say it's pretty fair.」[Nova]

Rai and Andrew were coming back, while staring at what just occurred.

『Yo. Did you just put those two in front of him?』[Rai]

『Yeah. Why not?』[Nova]

『Well, I don't know.. The teachers are starting to keep an eye out now. I think you should refrain from using your abilities.』[Andrew]

『Hmm… If you say so. I'll take your word for it.』[Nova]

Nova began to start eating the lunch he received when somebody took a seat right next to him.

When he took a look to his left, he saw Anastasia sitting there.

『...』[Anastasia]

After this event occurred, he felt an ominous aura coming from the kitchen.
