He hated the smell permeating the cabin, too. It could only mean one thing, and nothing good.

Dryath stirred. “Lovely smell. I take it the crate you stole finally gave out on you?”

Genthry glowered. “It had help.” He scanned the navigation screen. There had to be someplace he could land and repair this lump of metal. “I’d hoped to make it to Deraa, but considering that the charming fellow from Boscos decided to take out half of our remaining life support capacity I don’t think Deraa is something to shoot for.”

Dryath paled. “Half our remaininglife support capacity? What aren’t you telling me?”

“Nothing you need to worry your precious little heart about.” Genthry sniffed, and then he regretted it. The stink of burning metal was not high on his list of preferred ways to start a day.

“I think I’d better worry about it, since I’m the one sitting here waiting to suffocate and die.”
