"I thought I was going to have to come over to your apartment to carry you out," Pete said in relief when Kathleen stepped into the living room. 

She gave him a shy smile, not knowing what to say, "Where is Amanda?" She asked, looking around her since that was the only thing she could think of. 

"She has gone to bed. It's just the both of us here," Pete said as he walked over to where she was standing and looked at her with a small smile. 

"Are you nervous?" He asked curiously when he noticed how tense she seemed. 

Kathleen nodded, "Sort of."

"Why? It's not like it's your first time being around me," Pete reminded her. 

"Well, it is my first time being around you as your... You know, as someone you're in a relationship with," she countered with a shrug.
