Reunion (2)

Kai listened to Ryu carefully. 

"...I discovered them the day you left. They seem to be mortals, but I've noticed them acting suspiciously on multiple occasions".

"Do you know who they are?". Kai asked while trying to remember if he saw any suspicious people on his way back.

Ryu shook his head. "I don't know who they are. Whenever I notice them, they immediately retreat into the crowd and disappear. I haven't been able to track them down successfully". Ryu said in disappointment. His specialty was tracking, so not being able to find them hurt his pride.

"They seem to be well trained, so this much information is good. Now that we know that someone is watching us, we have to be wearier. Have you informed Old Lao of this?".

"Yes, Master. He has already taken precautions and is on the lookout". 

"Good! keep watching the shadows and inform me of anything or anyone that seems suspicious."

Ryu smiled and bowed his head.
