Chapter 0: Did I get transported to another world that easily?

On a cold winter's morning, 26 year old Kai left the textile factory he had been working at for the last three years.

Some co-workers invited him to have a drink, however he politely turned them down. He did not enjoy socializing with others.

For Kai, he only had a few hours to enjoy the evening before he had to go back to that job tomorrow to repeat the cycle so he would not waste a second of it.

He rushed to his one bedroom apartment which could barely be called an apartment. Kai sighed to himself as he opened the door and thought "at least I still have a roof over my head"

Kai had lived in relative comfort most of his life. His parents did well for themselves and had amassed quite the fortune,

however it was not meant to last. Some jealous relatives conspired against his parents and had them killed while making it look like a car accident.

The 10 year old Kai at the time was suddenly alone in the world when his uncle's family took him in.

Just when he had a glimmer of hope, he quickly realized that they only took him in for control over the business and property under his name.

As if to add insult to injury, Kai was thrown out of their home on his 18th birthday and was told that his uncle had somehow written him out of his parents will by chance.

He had been fending for himself ever since, barely getting by with part-time jobs for years until he landed a steady job at the textile factory three years ago.

"What a disappointing life, I wonder how much longer I can keep this up" he thought to himself.

This harsh world has chewed him up and spat him out over and over and he was slowly getting sick of it.

"Today is finally the day", Kai thought, trying to forget his previous negative thoughts.

He walked over to his computer and searched for the latest chapter of his favorite fantasy novel "Cultivation Era".

Cultivation Era was a wonderful masterpiece detailing the adventures of Eastern Martial Arts cultivators in a mystical land.This had been his daily escape from the harsh realities of life.

He longed to live in a world where he could have the power of gods and do as he pleased.

He quickly switched on his old computer and searched for the novel, however the final chapter was delayed. "Well it's not like it's a popular novel anyway".

The novel had been on the decline for years now, to the point where it only had readers in the tens. This had prompted the Author to finally end the 10 year long running novel.

Just as he was having these thoughts, a pinging sound indicating that the chapter had been released. Kai snapped out of his thoughts and eagerly opened the page.

However, all he saw was one sentence: "This is the end of one journey, but the beginning of another"

"...what the hell is this?". He had waited two weeks for this finale and all he got was that one cryptic line?.

Just as he was about to write a questioning comment, his screen flashed and he blacked out. The last thing he saw before his mind went blank were the words "Thank you for your support and Good luck..."
