A scardy cat
The day went by the smoothest it could have gone. Finally, she felt that she had started to take baby steps towards progress instead of drowning in sorrow and rotting from within. Looking at the past and present, she had not changed much, but subtleties were still a form of progress.
The next day arrived quicker than she had expected. She did not have any nightmares that night. Her hands lay flat on the linen. She tossed from side to side; her head felt clear, and she got up. The windows were closed while the curtains were slightly shifted, gathered together at a side.
Her bare feet walked on the cold floor, and she tied the curtains, letting the fresh, cold air enter her stuffy room. The snow covered the entire lawn, and far beyond the mountains, she saw tiny sparks of golden rays rising above.
