Chapter Ninety-nine

♦Neruda's POV♦

Leaving Silk again is actually easier than the last time and I'm truly grateful for her friendship.

Now the tricky part, leaving Ghost City is a little complicated and Silk makes it a parting gift by creating a hole in the veil for us to walk through.

"We will see again, Neruda." Silk says formally, with a little bow and glassy eyes.

I wave at her. "Of course, bringing trouble to your doorstep is a passing hobby of mine." I smile at her.

She shakes her head at this and waves at me. "Next time, come with rent."

I step into the portal at this, the rest had already stepped out before me. I knew that Ghost City moved around so I'm not surprised when we don't appear in the Dark Plains but instead the outskirts of Fade, close to the border that led to Ingrid, the capital.

"Turns out that the moving trap brought us to our destination." Selena says when I come out, the portal sealing close behind me.
