ALMOST LATE.

Jackson's POV.

Panicking I raced back to my room, thanks to my speed, I got to my room even before she got to the door. I quickly settled in , adjusting myself to look relaxed, then the door barged open.

"What logo is this?" She released immediately.

"What logo is that? that you suddenly lost your sense of decency and now suddenly your basic home training has jumped out the window " I replied. 'After she had finished chuckling with david now she is here acting like we are close or something, barging on each other and stuff.' my mind echoed

"Sorry Alpha Jackson, I was just in shock." She apologized "These logo's on your button, what are they?" She added.

"Well, if you must know, it's my family's emblem. Why do you ask about it?" I enquired.

"Your family's emblem? That same logo is the same logo on my dad's old Journal." She let out "Some couple other stuffs back home had the same logo and as they also said, it's our family's emblem, he said it held the four corners of a great kindred." She referred passionately.

"Hahaha, your family's emblem? That is very funny." Laughing I moved closer to Anne, such lowly maid thinking she would possibly have any connections with me.

"Little Anne, you must have lost it. So you actually think that your family would have any connections with mine. Funny, Like look at yourself, your an ordinary maid and am an Alpha to the most feared pack in history" I replied putting her in her place. "Doesn't that ring a bell?" I added

"But..."

"No but's, that logo can never have anything to do with your family. Your family is as low as you, so ofcourse that's not something strange. I mean, you guys pick things up now and then. So I'm pretty sure he had picked them from somewhere." I concluded.

After I had said this, little Anne's eyes watered . She stood there glaring at me for a while, my wolf pricking me. Had I done something I shouldn't have again?

Alpha Jackson, Never in your entire life should you ever mention or talk about my late parents in such a manner. Infact do not even think of them with that your rotten mind, what ever you just said now should be the last." She gave out breaking down in tears.

"You can insult me all you want but leave my parents off your filthy mouth" she said vibrating as she immediately ran out of my room in heavy tears.

Like this was the height of it, what have I done ? My heart ached so bad, it felt like I could feel her pain, I felt suffocated. With every tears that left her eyes, my heart felt like it was being ripped apart. And this was when I realised, this wasn't just the mate bond. I love her, I had loved her ever since we met but I didn't realise it.

In realisation I quickly ran after Anne to comfort her, "Anne wait!" I called out chasing her.

Getting out my door, I raced to catch up with Anne but then my leg suddenly halted to a stop, I felt like a dagger had been pierced right into my heart. It was Anne and David, Anne was in the embrace of David, David on the other hand held her tightly, consoling her.

"Did I realise my feelings for her late? Had she given up on us already?" I questioned myself in pain. I turned to head back to my room when a tear drop fell my eyes. Right now I was speechless, I felt empty , I didn't know what to do from here. 'Should I fight for her or should I leave her for David' those where the thoughts banging my head.

David's POV

I paced around in front of my room door looking deep into the hall, staring at the Alpha's door. I wondered what Anne might have seen that made her run that fast to the Alpha's room.

Just when I was still in wonder I saw her come out of the Alpha's room crying loudly, she must really be broken. What had Jackson done this time?

As I watched her run closer, I immediately pulled her to my chest, comforting her with my embrace. "Small, it's fine , it's okay." I let out patting her back.

"He...he is a jerk. Why would he say such a thing to me, why does he have to be so aggressive towards me." She mumbled in tears, my shoulders wet from her tears already.

"What did my parents do to be talked off that way, even in their grave they are not allowed to rest." She sobbed louder.

Her loud cry drew the attentions of people around, eyes began to peer, whispers filled the room. I knew exactly what would be going on in their minds, this scene was deceiving. I looked like the villain and on Anne's path this attention would make her feel embarrassed.

My mind cramped up in thoughts, I needed to think fast. "Anne breath, it's fine. You need to stop crying." I let out trying to calm her down but she was too sad for that, thinking fast I lifted her in a bridal pose into my room immediately locking the door behind us.

Dropping her on my bed, I stood for a while staring at her as she cried. She looked so cute, she was like a kitten.

"Small really suits her" I mumbled after staring for a while.

She needed something sweet to make her feel better, so I went ahead and got her a juice box,

"Here, Have this. it will make you feel better."

Surprisingly, immediately she heard this she stopped crying drying her eyes. she was just like a little child.

"Thank you Alpha David." She let out still sulking.

"No need to thank me." I replied running my hands through her hair. "When your calm enough, do you mind telling me what happened ." I asked out of curiosity.

"Alpha David, I accept working for you." She blurted immediately. What was she thinking? This was the same thing she refused. What changed?
