She put back the dumbbell on its place and faced me.

"No, it's okay Alex. I was expecting this question from you." She sighed and took a seat beside me.

"I have interfered in their misdeed long time back. They tried to rape me but I was lucky that I was saved on time. Very few people know about this incident" She paused and then continued.

"My father wanted those guys to be arrested but they were from rich families. Mrinal's father and commissioner of police threatened their families that if anything happened to me then he will ruin those guys.

You know, any threat from Commissioner Vikram Rajput is not an empty threat. He can make things possible in either way legally or illegally. Their parents know this and that's why they have apologized to my father and everything gets settled without leaking the news to media." She stopped speaking and sat on a chair.

I was shocked after knowing the truth. I realized why she was always bitter towards boys especially rich ones and why she has slapped me when I tried to hug her.

"Then why they have attacked you again. Have they forgotten the threat?" I stepped near to her.

"I don't know. They have tried to bully me earlier but Mrinal and Rahul has protected me. That day, when I found Vibhu in washroom, I couldn't control myself. I hit Maddy and I think they have attacked me to get revenge of that incident" she narrated her past and was about to burst into tears.

I wanted to break those hands that touched my Gawri. I didn't want to imagine the things she has gone through. I closed the gap between us and removed her hands from her face.

"Gawri, I am so sorry. I should not have asked you about it." I wiped her tears and she composed herself.

"I should go now." She lifted herself from the seat and about to leave when I got an idea to make her smile.

"Hey beautiful, would you help me in studies" I requested her.

"Don't call me beautiful" she replied angrily.

"Why? You are beautiful" I teased her.

"It's not a right Alex. People here don't like such thing. If somebody will hear you addressing me like that then they will start talking about us and I don't want that. Please Alex, I can't explain you but please don't use any endearments for me"

"It's okay, now can you please smile for me" I gazed into her eyes and she smiled at me. My heart filled with happiness and I get lost in her almond color eyes.

"Staring is a bad habit Alex" she left the gym and I heard a giggle.
