Not So Sure
After telling Aviana everything that happened, it took Evan quite an effort to calm down the anxious Aviana and convince her that he was fine. Like always, he handle her with patience and it eventually paid off as Aviana Valos seemed to be slowly back to herself.
"You're really fine, right?" Aviana asked Evan one last time. "Apart from these cuts and bruises, you have no other wounds, right?"
Somehow, her words made him smile and he nodded. "There is none and I'm really fine."
For the first time since they entered the apartment, Aviana was finally quiet and free of panic. Evan took this time to ask her what he was really curious about.
"He said that if not for you, he might not arrive on time," he started and Aviana understood that he was talking about his biological father. She still remembered how he referred to Enea Morelli as 'my father' when they talked on the phone earlier.
