Queen Margaret didn't seem to be bothered or offended by the words that her daughter said to her. It was her big day after all and she could understand why she was acting the way she was acting and saying the things that she was saying. Her fingers trailed along Mira's chin and caressed it gently and she continuously turned her face away.
''My daughter, I understand that you are upset with me and that you are not happy with everything that is happening. I know that it is all too sudden and so overwhelming for you but you need to know that this marriage is not a thing for fun. This union will not only save this kingdom now but will help prevent future rivalries. With this marriage, your father won't have to struggle to secure the throne. Have you forgotten that the throne is your inheritance? Do you really want to see your inheritance taken away from you? Maybe you don't care about that but I need to ask you if you would like to see your father become a servant to another king. Will your conscience be able to handle that Mira?''
Mira fell silent and carefully, she lifted up her face to stare at her mother's face. Though she hated the fact that she was going to get married to Alvarez, she couldn't bear the thought of having to see her father as a servant to another king. She had already imagined it and it wasn't what she wanted at all. Maybe she really had to do this. Maybe she had to save her kingdom and even though she hated it so much she just had to do it for the sake of her father because she loved him dearly.
Margaret smiled to herself as she saw that she was able to convince Mira with her words – only her facial expressions were enough to prove that. ''Mira, my darling, your father is sick and strength is leaving him every single day. You are all we have. You are the key to the salvation of this kingdom. Please save your kingdom. I beg you.'' With that being said, queen Margeret left the room after urging the maidens to hurry up with dressing the princess.
After a little while, the princess was completely made ready and ushered outside where she would meet her parents and the waiting servants. Her facial expressions were blank as she appeared not to be both happy and sad.
King Desmond stared at his daughter as she walked down the stairs heading towards them. She was as beautiful as the morning light but couldn't help but feel pity for her. At that point he blamed and hated himself for not being able to defend her. How could his daughter who he was supposed to be protecting be the one to save the kingdom from peril? What then was his duty as the king of Havilla kingdom? But unfortunately it was late for him. He was a king and he had to keep his word and not let it fall to the ground.
Mira approached him and curtsied before him. Looking at his daughter, he knew that he didn't have to see a facial expression of sadness or happiness to know that she wasn't happy. It was right there…it was written in her eyes. It was written in her eyes that she didn't want to. He held her gently in her arms and said those words of remorse to her.
''I am sorry, Mira. I am really sorry but there is nothing I can do.''
''you are wrong, father. You can but you chose not to but you don't have to worry about anything. As you can see, I am ready to get married to Alvarez and save your kingdom. All you need to do is to stay alive and watch it happen.'' She then disengaged herself from his grip and headed straight to the already opened car and entered inside it.
…
All of them soon arrived at the hotel, Hotel Alvarez, the very big and luxurious hotel of King Alvarez. Mira had a hard time trying to differentiate between the wedding guests and the regular hotel guests. These people were slick – their attire and everything about them exuded nothing but glory and wealth. Yes, her family was wealthy but just by looking at them, she knew that theirs had class.
She was eventually ushered into a very large suite and if not for the fact that she wasn't in a happy mode, she wanted to exclaim in awe and compliment the luxury of that beautiful place – was it the beautiful red curtains, the sparkling chandelier, the nice looking deluxe sofa or the ground on which her feet stepped. The first thing that came to her mind was; how exactly is Alvarez this wealthy? It wasn't like it was a substantial question, after all he was a king but what she didn't seem to understand was that the person whom she thought was ugly and senseless had the thinking 4 build and create something like this. It was indeed a thing of doubt.
Was this the supposed place she was expected to dress up in? As she asked herself these questions, she heard the sound of the door opening and turned to look at who it was that opened the door but she was hoping that it wasn't Alvarez. She was relieved to see that it was a young lady like her. She was dressed in a corporate outfit and walked majestically towards her. She didn't know where to place her and what exactly she was but by the way she carried herself with grace, she assumed that she was someone of great importance.
Walking towards Mira with smiles on her face, the young lady greeted her. "Hi, good morning Princess Mira. My name is Ava and I am your wedding gown stylist. Nice to meet you." She held out her palm for a handshake and Mira accepted it wholeheartedly.
"Nice to meet you too." Mira replied, faking a smile.
"Congratulations on your wedding day. It is a great thing for every woman to get married to who she loves." Yeah right…just right. Who she loves indeed. She wondered why people still congratulated people without first asking if that person was happy with the entire occurrence.
"Thank you." Mira replied. What else was she supposed to reply with? She was not intending to cause a fuss, at least not yet and definitely not to this calm looking woman.
"I don't know if you have seen your wedding outfit yet but if you haven't then I would like you to follow me to the bedroom. Time is no longer on our side and the event will soon kick off. Please come with me, your highness." Ava said to her and headed straight to where the bedroom was.
