Chapter 7: To Her Company

After walking around the flower garden for a while, Loraine got exhausted from how vast it was and went back inside her room. 

It was then that Loraine found out she had just received a call from Mrs. Fara, the Managing Director of her entertainment company, the company her father set up for Miss Antares when she asked on a whim. 

Loraine immediately called back the other party because she was still planning her trip and didn't have anything else to do.

Miss Fara answered on the first ring.

"Hello, Mrs. Fara.

I was out when you called. 

What's the matter?"

"Miss Loraine, did you already forget? 

You promised to show up this time."

'Show up where?' Loraine sweatdropped.

It seems the original owner had an appointment today.

"Oh, what was it again?" Loraine inquired.

"Today, we are selecting new actors and singers for the company," Mrs. Fara was aware that her boss didn't care much about the company.

However, as the managing director, she still needed to try her best to let the company progress. 

And the boss should also be present from time to time to boost employee morale so Ms. Fara was calling Loraine now and then.

"Oh, I see. 

I remember it now. 

I will be in the company later. 

See you there, Mrs. Fara!"

After the reminder from Mrs. Fara, Loraine recalled that the original owner had promised to be the one selecting talents this time. 

This was the company's first entry of new talent. Thus, as the owner and the CEO, Loraine should be the final decision-maker.

'Oh my. What an honor. I get to decide things like this now?' Loraine was rather somewhat excited about it.

After all, this was the entertainment industry they were talking about!

Loraine quickly got changed and asked to be escorted to her company.

From Miss Antares' memory, when the company had just been established, their agents poached artists from other companies. 

It was quite common in the industry so whoever had the better offer gets the better talents.

With the Antares name as a signboard, artists immediately agreed once they were contacted.

There was opposition but the other companies were powerless to stop it.

What the company did was not really outrageous since it was quite a common act.

Moreover, they did not select those people who were already popular. 

Instead, they chose new talents or those who were not signed yet with major companies but had good qualifications but had no luck or chance to become popular.

All of their chosen artists were very much grateful for the opportunity they received and a year later, they were all well-known. 

Thus, those who were not chosen were envious, but all they could do was stare.

Thus, when it was posted that the company was looking for new artists again, a large number of people came to audition. 

Today was the final selection of the candidates. 

Thus, Loraine would only need to choose people.

It wouldn't be that hard since she had also helped a lot in screening and hiring for new employees back in her former world.

Looking at the company name 'All-Star Entertainment', Loraine had a feeling that she knew it already, even before receiving the original owner's memory. 

'It is really familiar. Where have I heard it before?'

She tried thinking about it, but could not recall anything. 

Thus, she just got out of the car and headed inside the company instead.

She was accompanied by a dozen bodyguards, which attracted a lot of onlookers. 

Others were also guarding her from afar. 

She wasn't used to being surrounded by others, but there was no other option. 

She still cherished her life very much and didn't want to die again. 

Moreover, having bodyguards around would be the norm for her now that she is very wealthy.

"Good afternoon! Miss Loraine." 

All the managers and agents immediately greeted her with smiles on their faces as she entered the audition hall.

"Good afternoon, everyone!" Loraine greeted them back, before taking her seat.

Everyone looked surprised and delighted that she finally visited the company, especially Mrs. Fara.

After all, Miss Fara had taken a lot of effort just to convince her and make her promise that she would truly attend this time and choose talents.

"How many actors and singers are on the list this time?" Loraine was ready to do her first job as Loraine Antares.

Even though she said she wanted to just loaf around, doing her job every now and then wouldn't be that bad.

At least she had control of what she wanted and did not want to do this time. She could work as much or as little as she wanted.

And for now, she wanted her first task here in this world to be successful. She didn't want to disappoint her employees either.

"In this batch, Miss Loraine, we chose 50 actors and 50 singers for you to choose from," Mrs. Fara responded. 

They had already raised their qualifications to the highest level, but there were still a large number of candidates. Thus, a need for more screening.

And Loraine was the one to make that final judgment.

"Oh, that's a lot. 

Let's get started with the audition then.

There appears to be a lot of promising candidates to choose from."

It might take several hours to watch everyone perform one by one.

When the company first opened, it only accepted a few people from other companies to focus on its artists. 

New artists were then scheduled to be accepted every three years. 

It was so the company could focus its resources and train all the accepted artists. How they get ahead will be entirely dependent on their abilities.

After receiving the signal, the door opened to welcome the candidates.

"Hello, my name is Ren, and I'll be singing..."

"Hello, my name is Ricardo. I will act part two of… "

"Good day, I'm Madeline, I'll be singing…"

The candidates were very diverse in talents, personality, and demeanor.
