Caleb's heart was filled with compassion as he stood by the door of Janice's room and watched as tears run down his brother's face. He was sitting by her bed massaging her hand as she slept, he looks tired and drained, he know how desperately Ty wanted that child and it was breaking his heart to think it might not happen. From the moment she found out that she was pregnant she had only been home once for a day, but then she had to be rushed back to the hospital because the bleeding had returned.
Ty has been going nonstop for days now, from work to the maternity ward to his AMS classes and he was concerned that if Ty didn't slow down he might soon collapse. He was about to enter the room when one of his uncles put his hand on his shoulder and pulls him gently back into the passage. "Let's take a walk." He suggests.
"I was with him earlier but now he just needs to be alone with his fiancée and God." His uncle states as they walk down the passage. "How are they doing?" Caleb asks. "Well, she is doing everything she possibly can to keep that child inside her; we hope that her efforts pay off.' His uncle replied. "Are they going to call off the wedding?" Caleb asks. "Nope, they both agree that it's still on." "So I guess a bachelor party is out of the question?"
"I don't think he'll be in the mood." "So….um let me asks you, something uncle, "Pastor says that God knows us from we were in our mother's womb, is that right?" "Yes, it is." "So he knew Tyler before he was born?" "Yes, he did." "And he controls everything that happens in his life?" "Pretty much, yes." "He wakes us up, carries us through the day, and protects us while we sleep?" "Yes," "Supreme being, ruler of the universe, why would a being so powerful allow my brother to suffer like this?" Caleb asks coldly.
"Hold on now, be careful what you say." His uncle warned sternly. "Or what, I'm going to offend the mighty one? He knew my brother before he was born and yet he chose to plague him with an illness that no doctor has ever heard of before and then he sat back on his mighty throne and watched as my little brother struggles to have a normal life." He sneered.
His uncle holds up his hand trying to stop him from going any further. "Caleb be careful." But that didn't stop Caleb from ranting. "Oh please, why couldn't he have picked on me or Fabian, he knows we've done a lot of things in our lives that's worth a punishment or two, Ty is a saint compared to us, so why is he picking on my little brother?!" "Stop right there! God isn't picking on anyone." His uncle snaps at him.
"Oh really, not only did he sit there and watch him suffer, he kept bringing these heartless bitches into his life, the first one was a carrier girl who wasn't ready for marriage or a baby, next was the one who told him how needy he was and left the country," Caleb said with so much anger that it was radiating from his body.
"And let's not forget the wickedest one of all Kayla, she hurt him a lot more than any of the others but then God took a little pity on him and brought Janice all the way from St Elizabeth, drop her in front of him and say, hey here is someone to help you through your time of pain." He sneered and kicks a stone across the pathway.
His uncle wanted so badly to stop the flow of words coming from his nephew's lips but Caleb was so angry that he thought if he let him get it off his chest he might feel better or better yet, calm down. "He let them fall in love, he let her conceive only to torture him some more…that's just twisted." Caleb sneered.
"None of this is God's fault Caleb; it's just the way life is." His uncle said trying to remain calm even though his nephew's disrespectful attitude towards God was rubbing him the wrong way but getting angry himself would only make matters worst.
"Like hell it is!? Caleb barked. "He can put an end to all this if he wanted to, is that too damn much to ask for, for him to ease up off my little brother and give him a break and find someone else to pick on for a while, let him be happy for a change, damn!" He screams in frustration. "Do you know how sick and tired I'm of watching Ty suffer?" He asks with tears in his eyes.
"I know you're angry but cursing God isn't going to help the situation." "Of course not, it's not like the mighty ruler is going to listen to me, and you." He said turning on Fabian who had just walked up to them. "You can do whatever it is you think you have to do because I would rather go to jail, be punished by dad, or even spend one year in grandpa's boot camp than spend another second in a church worshiping a God that could be so cruel." He growls through clenched teeth before storming away from them.
"So much for anger management." Fabian chuckles. "So what was that all about?" He asks his uncle. "He's just frustrated with the whole situation; he doesn't mean anything he's saying right now." He sighs. "Whether he means it or not I think he just found the perfect excuse to not attend church." Fabian laughs. "You never did say what he was being punished for." His uncle states. "For beating a man, half to death."
"Again, who was it this time?" His uncle asks. 'The man who violate Janice the night Ty found her." "That piece of slime, so where is he now?" "I don't know and I'm too scared to find out." "Does my brother know?" "No, they have enough to deal with." "So what do you think happens to that piece of garbage?" "I don't have a clue but Caleb might know, ask him, I'm going to visit Ty," Fabian said walking away.

"So I heard you're having a boy?" Miss Alice said entering the room. "Yes I am and we have already named him," Janice said massaging her stomach. "Okay so let me hear it then." She said taking a seat beside Janice. "It's Tyrique Shavaughn Jackson, Ty calls him TJ junior ." She chuckles. "Wonderful name, a little heavy but wonderful just the same." Miss Alice said. "So are you ready for your wedding tomorrow?" Miss Alice asks. "I can't wait, I just wish we weren't doing it in the hospital, but then again I would marry him anywhere." Janice laughs.
"I'm so glad to see the both of you so happy, after all the both of you have been through, you both deserves to be happy." "You know the funny thing is, if Ty had proposed to me after he found out that I was pregnant, I would've thought that he was only marrying me because of the baby," Janice said with a sigh. "Now why would you go and think something like that?" Miss Alice asks putting a bottle of porridge at Faith's lips and smiling as the child latch on and begins to drink hungrily.
"Come on Miss Alice, I've been in love with Ty since day one but he was in love with someone else and seeing how beautiful Kayla is I never really thought I was his type." She said sadly. "I mean the only reason he even took me from the side of the road was to save my life, why would he want me for his wife?" "Oh I don't know, maybe it's because you're the most wonderful woman he has ever met and he wants to spend the rest of his life with you." Miss Alice laughs.
"Ty has been in love with you for some time now, the only reason he was staying with her was because he thought that the child was his, he thought that he could make her into a respectable lady but there wasn't one decent bone in her body." She said then continues, "He wanted a child more than anything in this world but he still choose you, even though he thought you couldn't give him children that alone shows how much he loves you." She said putting Faith next to her mother then begins fixing the bottle warmer in the bag.
"Watching him with Faith would bring tears to anyone eyes, the love he shows this child, the gentle way in which he holds her, Miss Janice he's going to be a wonderful father." "I know and that's why I'm trying so hard to keep his son alive because I know how desperately he wants this child." "I know you're trying sweetheart but it's not up to any of us, you just need to have Faith."
"I already did, she's right here." Janice laughs. "There's that sense of humor I like, but I was talking about Divine faith, my dear." "I know and I do, God has given our child four months and I'm very grateful to him for that, now lets go over the list of things we have to do for tomorrow."
