Chapter 147 Attack

Caleb parked his bike in the driveway, took off his helmet, and stepped from the bike. He was about to enter the house when his phone rang. He checks it and saw that it was Latoya. "Hi baby, miss me already?" He asks in a seductive tone. "I'm just checking if my stallion reaches home safely." "Really? Or are you checking to see if I'm in another woman's bed?" He laughs.

"After the workout I just gave you, there's no way you could take on another woman tonight." She laughs. 'And what a workout it was, hmm, but my nickname is stallion so….?" "Even a stallion knows when to take a break." "True dat and the answer to your question is yes, I'm home safely."

"Good, now go get some rest, you're going to need it for tomorrow night." "Yes ma'am." "love you, baby." She whispers. "Love you too, bye." He put the phone in his pocket as one of the dogs run over to him, he bends down and pat his head, and played with the dog for a while.

A few moments later he went over to the pipe and bend down to wash his hands. He was about to head inside when he saw Maya walking towards him. "Hi, baby." She said stopping in front of him. "Do you have any idea what time of night it is woman?" He demands. "Yes, I do." She said proudly. "Wait, what are you doing here, I thought you had to study?" He said with air quotations.

"I did, but I miss you." She said coming closer and wrapping her arms around his waist. "I miss you too and I was hurt that I couldn't see you so I went and hang out with Alan instead but if I knew you were here…why didn't you call me?" He asks.

"I wanted to surprise you." "I like when you surprise me, so are you going to spend the night with me?" "That was my plan but your mom and dad are so strict, they won't let me sleep in your room." She pouts. "Are they still awake?"

"Yep, your mom is in the kitchen and your dad is in his study." "Hmm, maybe we could spend some time in the shower before you go to your room." He moans kissing her neck. "Okay but only if you promise to sneak into my room later." She giggles. "Deal." He laughs leading her inside.

" Oh yes, the other reason I'm here was to thank you for paying off the rest of my tuition, I really appreciate you doing that baby." She said stopping and turning towards him. "Well, you're almost at the end of your course, just a few more months, and that Bachelor's Degree will be yours wildcat, it was my pleasure."

"Thank you, baby." "And thank you for giving me another chance." He said kissing her lips softly. "Second chances baby, we all need them." She laughs. "Besides you're the father of my child and soon to be my husband, you deserve it."

"Alright, who's responsible for beating Edwards almost to death!" Mr. Jackson roars as he enters the living room where Caleb, Fabian, and five of their cousins were gathered. They all look from one to the other but Caleb noticed that his father was looking directly at him.

"Whoa, don't look at me, I didn't touch that piece of crap," Caleb said in a defensive tone. "Well someone did and now he's in the hospital and the men in my family is the number one suspect." Mr. Jackson fumes.

"So, what about the rest of you? Cat got your tongues?" He asks in a firm tone. The guys took turns denying having anything to do with the attack. "But I'm definitely going to buy the one that did it a drink though," Caleb said with a satisfied smirk.

"Let's see if you still feel that way after the police is finish with all of you." His dad said. "Excuse me!" Fabian asks in anger. "Yes, you're all suspects, so they want to question all of you, so again I ask, do any of you have anything to say to me? Now is the time so I can get in front of this." He said but again they all deny being involved.

"Now hold on just one damn minute dad! this maniac has been terrorizing his daughter for months now and the police couldn't do a damn thing to help her but now that someone has beaten his ass we're the number one suspect? Why? He flat-out denies having anything to do with Janice's kidnapping, so why would we want to hurt him?" Fabian demand.

"Both we and the police know he was behind that, we just can't prove it and that is what has made all of you suspects but if it wasn't any of you then the joke is on him, I hope he's in a lot of pain." His dad said as he left the room.
