After deliberating for a few moments, the judges came back and named me the winner. With that out of the way, Rem and I enjoyed the food I cooked. When we were finished eating, I sat down with Ron and bought the restaurant for three times the amount it was worth. What surprised him so much was the fact that I'll be keeping him on as the manager and head chef of the place. The name will stay the same as it always and I'll give him full freedom. The only thing I'll be changing is the menu, and that made him slightly worried. I told him that he's free to experiment and change the menu, as long as I approve of it beforehand. I told him that I would be coming by the next day to teach him how to cook what's on the new menu.

When I got back to the palace with Rem, she didn't know what to do with herself. She followed me to my door like a lost puppy with a confused expression on her face. Watch her act this way made a small wry smile appear on my face.

"Is something wrong, Rem?" I ask and wait patiently for her reply.

"Umm... what are we supposed to do now." She says awkwardly as she stares at the ground.

"What do you mean?" I say as my smile widens.

"Well, do we kiss now or something? Also, are we like together now, or should we have a few more dates first? How does this work? A-a-am I your g-girlfriend now?" She stutters as her face gets redder and redder.

Wow, I didn't think I'd ever see Rem like this. It's kind of cute. Taking her chin into my hands, I angle her face upwards and give her a quick peck on the lips. After our quick kiss, she stares into the air before her with a blank look. I lean against my door and wait for her to reboot patiently. The light returned to her eyes as she looks at me and steam starts rising from her head. As she processes what happened, her face couldn't possibly get any redder than it is right now.

"Does that answer your question?" I ask with a teasing smile.

"Y-yeah, I think it does." She nods dumbly at me.

"Good, you have the rest of the night off. Goodnight, Rem."

"Goodnight, Syrin." She says as I enter my room.

Flashback End (Syrin 16)

That was our first date and we've had many to come after that. I'm much closer to Rem than I am to Aella. Not to say that Aella and I aren't close, but we haven't even kissed yet. Meanwhile, Rem has been sleeping in my bed for the last year. It started one day when I awoke to her cuddling me. Who was I to complain about a cute girl sleeping in my bed? Rem doesn't want to have sex just yet, as she said she isn't ready. The indecision and embarrassment in her voice when she told me that was quite cute. I don't mind waiting patiently for her to be ready. Although, her sleeping with me has done a number on my self-control. I'm going through puberty again, so anyone who's been through it could imagine how hard it is for me to not pounce on her in the middle of the night.

Aella on the other hand has been treating our relationship more as a friendship. Yes, I've been friend-zoned. I think that the age difference has been getting to her, and the only way to get passed that is to grow up, so I've been patiently waiting for the time she starts treating me like a love interest. Since I've turned 16, I've filled out more and I've grown pretty tall. I'm almost six foot and I still have more growing to do. I would say I'm starting to look more mature as the months go by. When I go to the Bestia Kingdom, hopefully, she'll notice this and start treating me differently.

Speaking of my trip to the Bestia Kingdom, today is the day that I set out. I'm leaving schneizel in charge, but he's only a teleport away if I need him for anything. Although I've been living away from my parents for a while now, they seem as distraught as when I first left to go to Ephia. I went back to the capital to spend some time with my parents before leaving. I don't understand why they are so emotional about this. I can and will be teleporting here often to visit them and for training. After a heartfelt goodbye, I was teleported away from the Fortis Kingdom.

(A/N: I truly can't remember if I gave the Bestia Kingdoms capital a name. It's not in my notes, so idk. If I did let me know. I'll give it a random name until then.)

In a flash of flame, I appeared in front of the tall gates of the Bestia Kingdoms capital, Lacum. I didn't want to appear in the capital as that would seem like entering someone's house without knocking. The guards posted outside the gates wore shocked faces as they grabbed their weapons and sealed the gate. A bell was rung and more guards poured in above the walls. Mages readied their magic and fighters drew bows or held whatever melee weapon they had. I guess I should have let them know that I would appear like this beforehand. A man dressed like he is in charge spoke loudly from the top of the gate.

"On behalf of the Bestia Kingdom, I order you to surrender immediately!" The man orders as every soldier on the wall readied themselves for a possible battle.

"Umm... hello." I say and wave at them awkwardly.
