I take your power stones yet again, and give you a riddle. What 8 letter word can have a letter taken away and it still makes a word. Take another letter away and it still makes a word. Keep on doing that until you have one letter left. What is the word? The answer to the riddle will be in the authors note. Enjoy the chapter as always.

P.S. the newest chapter on the patreòn is a time skip to when Syrin is 10 years old. Just thought you would like to know that.)

POV Souei

I was summoned to this world by Master Syrin, and I don't regret leaving my old world. In my old world, I never thought that I would find a better Master than Lord Rimuru, but this new world has proven me wrong. I just don't understand why he's so passive with everything. I could easily move his plans forward, and destroy anything in masters path, but he seems to like to take things slow. Like the core beast that's causing all of this trouble. I could kill it in seconds, but master wants to use the situation to empower the kingdom. I agree with his thinking, but sometimes he can be too naive. It's a good thing that I'm around to protect him. If I wasn't then I dread to think what would happen to him.

POV Rem

Master summoned me instead of my sister, and I only hope that I can serve as best as I can. If Ram was summoned instead of me, I'm sure she would do a far better job than me. My sister is good at everything, after all. I wish master would let me enter the dungeon so I can grow strong enough to protect him. I know Souei is really strong, but I want to protect him with my own two hands as well. I was a maid in my other world too, but I'm more than just a maid. hopefully master summons Ram here too. I miss her so much. I can't remember a time where we were apart this long.

POV Syrin

Today, I'm going to tour the city, and hopefully, find a couple of places for the schools I want to set up. After eating a filling breakfast, I left the manor with Rem and Anna as company. I decided to not take a carriage today, and instead, we rode horseback around the city. My guards wanted to come along, but I order them to stay behind. Sometimes it just feels crowded with all of the guards hovering around me. As we traveled through the city, I took in as much of the sights as I could.

Most people don't know what I look like, so no one bothered us on our ride through the streets. The city is large enough to need at least four school districts. I just need to find the best places for each school. The problem with this is that finding a building big enough is hard. I found two buildings already. One in the north of the city, and another in the south. Both are mansions that no one lives in at the moment. They are a good distance from each other which is preferable, but now I need to find two more that are preferably In the east and the west. We looked for the rest of the day and didn't see any good buildings on either side that fit the description. After returning to the manor, I remembered something from the auction.

"Souei!" I call

"Yes, Master?" He appears.

"Didn't I ask you to capture that one maid? The one with the really good tea?" I ask.

"Yes, but Rem had me transfer the knowledge on how to make the tea to her. After that, she took the maid away, and I haven't seen her since." Souei explains.

"Huh, whatever. No wonder Rem's tea improved so suddenly." I say and Souei returns to my shadow.

The next day, I have my knights contact a construction merchant. When the merchant heard I wished to meet with him, he came running as fast as he could. We had a quick meeting and I explained what I wanted. I want the two mansions I found bought and renovated into schools, and two similar schools built in the East and the west. He agreed with my requests for a price but needed to understand the layout I wanted for the school. I explained the layout of modern schools, and he seemed to take a liking to it. After taking notes on all of my requests, he bowed and left to get to work. Hopefully, it doesn't take to long to open the schools.

Since I have the schools being built, now I need teachers. I wrote some letters to the spare sons and daughters of the Noble family's living in the Ephia Duchy and offered them the job of a teacher in my new schools. By spare, I mean the sons that won't inherit anything. These are people that would jump at the opportunity to please the next king and would know everything we'll be teaching. Every Noble is tutored by scholars on the subjects I wish to teach at the schools. Now it's just a waiting game for the schools to be built and the Nobles to reply.

The next day I went to my mother to tell her about my adventurers' guild registration. I knew she would be ecstatic about it, so I wanted to tell her in person before anyone tells her before me. When I arrived at her tent, I was met with a slight scent of iron in the air. My sleeping mother is lying on the couch with cuts, scrapes, and bruises all over her body. There isn't anything life-threatening, so I guess Souei didn't reveal himself. She must have had a hard fight today. I have Rem heal her, and then send her out to find anyone else that may need healing.

Whilst waiting for her to wake up, I decided to send Souei to get us something to eat. When he returned with some sandwiches and juice from the manor, he set them on the coffee table and returned to my shadow. The smell of food must have awoken her because mom started stirring.

"I see that your injuries are getting worse with every new battle." I say as she wakes up and looks around the room. "Want some food?" I ask as I stuff my face with food.

"Huh? Syrin, when did you get here." She says as she moves some stray hairs out of her face.

"I came to show you this." I pull out my guild card and show it to her.

"Oh my god!" She says and springs up from the couch. My guild card is stolen from my hands as she appraises it with a goofy smile on her face. "My son is an adventurer! I'm so proud of you, sweetheart." She says as moves to hug me with all of the love a mother could give.

I explained to her what happened at the guild, and she laughed really hard. Apparently, she knows Sally very well, but she wouldn't tell me Sally's adventurer rank. Whatever I'm sure I'll find out sooner or later.

POV King Henry

The information Syrins servant brought us seems to be legitimate. I sent an aerie member with the best stealth skills into the herd and found that everything in the file was extremely accurate. This isn't good at all, but at least we know about the problem. I had no choice but to call the banners again. This isn't good at all. Calling the army together so soon after a civil war is going to set back our treasury by a lot. I've also notified all elders, so they know that they may have to deal with some high-rank core beasts. I only hope that the adventurers hold out long enough for the army to form up.
