Theme park

The sharp sound of knocking pulled me out of a warm, deep sleep. I blinked at the light spilling through the edges of my curtains, disoriented and groggy. Today was supposed to be my lazy day. No filming, no scripts, just a rare morning to indulge in sleep and forget about everything else.

The knocking continued, more persistent now. I grumbled, pushing myself up and dragging my feet toward the door, mentally preparing a few complaints for whoever decided to interrupt my morning of solitude.

I opened it, ready to protest, only to find Maeve standing there with an impossibly bright smile and a bag in hand.

"Good morning!" Maeve's voice was practically a melody as she held up the bag, the scent of freshly baked pastries wafting through the air.

She looked almost annoyingly put-together, like she'd just walked off a photoshoot rather than appearing on my doorstep at the crack of dawn.
