I’m losing my mind

The scene cut, the director's voice breaking through the haze of tension that had filled the room. Applause erupted around us, filling the empty spaces with clapping hands and excited murmurs.

The energy was high, and I could feel the crew's appreciation for the scene we'd just pulled off. To them, it was a success another captivating moment captured on camera.

I barely registered the praise. My mind buzzed with a single objective: to get out of there. Now. I kept my face calm, giving a curt nod to the director and sidestepping the other actors and crew members.

I could still feel the sensation of Layla's skin on my lips, the way she'd reacted, the way she'd stayed still, almost expectant. It was nothing, I reminded myself.

Just a scene, just a job. And yet, the heat that had coiled low in my stomach hadn't fully dissipated, clinging to me with a raw intensity I wasn't used to.
