"Fuck, I really don't want to stay here." The words came out before I could filter them, muttered under my breath as I leaned back against the cold wall outside the rehearsal room.

The studio hall was oddly quiet, yet every sound inside grated against my nerves, every laugh and every word exchanged between Maeve and the crew turning my irritation up another notch.

Since the announcement of Maeve's role, the whole set seemed to revolve around her. People fawned over her, lured in by that effortless charm and confident smirk she wore like armor. And I could see why. Maeve commanded attention, something I'd never cared for.
