Chapter 14 - Caring For Her

Ethan's Pov.

Suddenly she got up and her eyes got locked with me. I came to her.

"Who gave you the right to call my mother 'Mom'?" I asked her gritting my teeth.

She wiped her tears and looked at me.

"Is this why you and Mr. King is talking to me so rudely? But your mom told me to call her mom." She said while sobbing.

Then she clutched her head like she was in extreme pain. I got worried about her.

I started walking towards her. She looked scared of me.

She started walking backward. I hold her hand and pulled her towards me.

We were very close to each other. She tried to move away from me but I hold her hand more tightly and made her sit in front of the pool.

I also sat beside her. I thought to give cold water on her head so that the pain can reduce.

I kept my hand behind her head and she looked at me with her big eyes. Her eyes are so mesmerizing.

She looked so beautiful and innocent at that moment.

"Hold your breath." I said and she looked at me without blinking.

"Huh?" She asked.

The confusion was evident in her face.

"Do it." This time I said sternly.

She did what I said. I lowered her bed near to the water and dipped her head in it.

I kept her head inside a few seconds in the water. Then I get her head out of the water.

She started coughing. Her face is looking more alluring because of the dripping water.

Ethan control yourself, my subconscious said and I got up and went away from her. I was going to enter the hall when I saw Sophia coming.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Did you saw Adri?" She asked.

"She is in the poolside." I said and went into the hall.

I went to dad.

"That girl, do you anything related to her? She can be a threat to our family. What if she is a spy? We didn't even find Lorenzo yet. He tried to hurt my life." Dad said mentioning mom.

"I will punish him with my own hands." Dad said.

Now people only watch my cruel side. But if my dad comes on track of cruelty, he is at the next level.

People fear him more than me.

"I already told Raphael to bring every information about her." I said and dad nodded and went towards my mom.

I saw Sophia and that girl entering the hall. Sophia cut the cake and we wished her Happy Birthday.

Now, it was dance time. Everyone started dancing.

"Ethan, will you dance with me?" Kate asked and I glared at her.

"My feet are hurting." I said.

"What?!" She said dumbfounded and I moved away from her.

I saw that girl standing in a corner. She looked at me and I glared at her.

She instantly looked away. I saw mom coming towards her.

They talked about something and both of them looked at me and she started coughing.

What happened to her suddenly?

She went towards the bar area while coughing. Mom made her way towards me.

"Ethan, why are you standing here? Go and dance." She ordered.

"With who?" I asked raising my eyebrows.

"With Adrita." She said and I huffed at her words.

"No way. I won't dance with her." I said.

I looked at her and saw her drinking water. I thought she will drink alcohol.

"She is our guest. We should take good care of her." Mom said softly.

"Still, I won't dance with her." I said and mom glared at me.

"Why don't you tell Stefan to dance with her?" Those words slipped out of my mouth.

But I didn't like the idea of Stefan dancing with her. We both looked at Stefan who was flirting with a girl.

Mom looked at him with amusement. She looked back at me.

"You will go or not?"  She asked me.

"Fine." I said and made my way towards that girl.

She looked at me coming to her.

"You are so cunning. Using my mom to come close to me. You are nothing but a gold digger." I said to her with hatred.

I don't care if she gets hurt by my words or not.

"I would die single but will never be with you." She said.

I gave her my hand to dance with me. She looked at my hand.

She moved her hand towards my hand but kept it on someone else hand.

It was none other than Stefan. They moved towards the dancefloor.

I felt it was insulting. How dare she reject me.

Girls die to be with me. I looked at them dancing.

She looked at me and I glared at her.

She rolled her eyes at me. Arggh!

She is getting on my nerves. Sophia came towards me and dragged me to the dancefloor.

I started dancing with her but the whole time my eyes were on that girl. She looked at me and I saw Stefan twirl her and I caught her before she can fall.

She wasn't even looking at me. I looked at her beautiful face which was making me look at her again and again.

Soon, the dance ended. It was dinner time. We all moved to have dinner.

"Food, here I come." Stefan said dramatically and we laughed.

We saw mom coming towards us with that girl.

"Sophia, how can you forget your friend?" Mom asked Sophia.

"I am sorry, mom. Adri sit beside me." Sophia said and she sat beside her.

Soon the dinner was served and we started eating.

"Why are you not eating, dear?" Mom asked her and looked at her.

She barely ate the food. Tears slipping from her eyes.

"Why are you crying?" Mom asked her and she wiped her tears.

"Actually, I am missing my mom, Mrs. King." That girl said.

"What did you called me? Mrs. King? I told you to call me mom." Mom said and dad looked at mom.

"Sorry, but I can't call you that." She said lowering her dad.

"Why?" Mom asked.

That girl will definitely say my name.

"Someone doesn't like it when I call you mom." She indirectly accused me.

Instantly mom snapped her eyes at me.

"I know who are you talking about, Ethan." She screamed loudly my name.

"What?" I asked in a low voice.

I am hell scared of her anger.

"Is that how you talk to a person? What's the problem if she calls me mom? I count her as a family member." Mom said in anger.

I was about to say something but I got interrupted.

"Don't scold him. It's not his fault. I shouldn't call you mom and moreover, I am just Sophia's friend. It's my fault, I shouldn't have come here." That girl said.

She joined her hand in front of us.

"I am sorry if I did any mistake." She said and went away.

Mom looked at me in anger. After some time she came back from upstairs with her bag and came towards Sophia.

"I will give you the dress back tomorrow." She said to Sophia and ran away.

"Where she will go at this time? What if she gets into some problem?" Mom said and looked at me.

Mom looked at me.

"Ethan go behind her and say sorry to her." Mom said but I won't go to her.

"No." I said and went upstairs to my room.

What if something bad happens with her? She won't get any vehicle in this area.

Should I go looking for her? No, I won't go.

She isn't related to me so I don't need to care for her.
