Chapter 31
Beside Quinn, Skylar’s body goes tense, his hand squeezing Quinn’s. Quinn glances over at him, trying to discern what is wrong, but Skylar just looks shocked and a little wary.
“I hadn’t thought about it,” Skylar stammers out. He looks over at Quinn, searching for help. Quinn just shrugs. He’s not going to make this decision for him. It’s Skylar choice, his life. If he wants his old job back then he should take it.
Though Quinn does think it would be a great idea. Skylar had loved his job, had so much pride and passion for books and reading, it would only do him good to get back into it. Plus, it would give him something to do, add some normalcy back into his life.
They stay for an hour, talking and chatting and catching up. Everyone avoids the topic of Bryan and Skylar’s mental health—after his initial talk with Gwen, that is—which Quinn can see Skylar is grateful for.
