New Encounters
The next day was pretty uneventful for Daisy. She unpacked the smaller things that were left and walked around the campus when she was done decorating. She found a nice cafe with a good atmosphere near her dormitory and also discovered the campus library.
When she returned to her room, she found a petite girl sitting on one of the desks studying. She was wearing a lavender colored sweatshirt and her hair was tied in a braid reaching her hips.
Seeing Daisy, the girl jumped up in greeting, introducing herself in a bright voice, “Hi, my name is Ella. I'm your roommate.”
Daisy had smiled awkwardly at her before replying, “Hey, am Daisy.”
“ Oh, that's a great name. I always wanted a fun name like yours, but I'm stuck with Ella, and honestly it makes me feel like some lame damsel in distress,” She said.
She then continued to talk more about her name and why she hates it making Daisy regret coming to the school two-fold.
“Great. The only thing left to make my life even worse was a chirpy roommate who doesn't know when to stop talking,” Daisy thought if she tried to follow along with ls conversation.
“So what classes do you have tomorrow?” Ella asked snapping Daisy out of her thoughts.
“I have AP Biology first period and then English Lit,” Daisy said.
“ Oh, that's great. Even I have AP biology. We can go together. That way I'll be able to show you around as well.”
Daisy forced to smile in response, already dreading the plan.
“No that's all right. You don't need to.”
“No, it's no trouble at all. I will help you especially since you are hurt right now,” Ella said with concern her hands pointing towards Daisy's leg.
Daisy had no choice but to nod through gritted teeth.
The morning rolled in pretty quickly. Daisy woke up before Ella had and tried to calm her nerves that had started to rise as she thought of her first day in a new school. The morning view helped in soothing her worries. The window looking out to the lush forest that stretched for miles. Daisy felt a sense of comfort as she silently made her way to the shared bathroom at the end of the corridor.
However, when she opened the door, she found someone already in, a short girl was drying her hair in front of the bathroom mirror. When Daisy came in, the girl glanced at her before smirking and looking away. Daisy rolled her eyes at the hottie girl and continued with her business. She came out of the bathroom stall and walked over to the thing where the girl was standing, tracking Daisy’s every move with judgment.
Standing next to the girl Daisy trying to ignore her as much as she could. But when the girl continued to look at her, she had no choice but to make eye contact with her and she did so. The girl spoke up immediately
“So you're the new girl huh?” gassed in a snobbish tone.
“Yeah, I guess so,” Daisy replied dismissively.
“What did you do?” the girl asked, her hands resting on her hips and her hair forgotten.
Daisy frowned at her question, not understanding what the girl meant. Observing her confused expression, the girl explained herself,
“Oh, you know, you transfer to the school so suddenly, and that do in the middle of your last year. You must have done something really crazy for your parents to think this was the best way to get rid of you.”
Daisy turn towards the girl to see her smiling triumphantly, as if she had caught her off guard or hurt her in some way. Daisy scoffed at the idea and took a step closer to the girl, her height looming over the arrogant girl.
“Do you really want to know why I'm here?” so you asked her voice becoming lower.
The girl scuffled uncontrollably, her smile and turning into a frown as Daisy continued to glare at her with a stony expression.
“Nevermind then, I'm sure it was something embarrassing anyway,” the girl said before collecting all her belongings and scurrying away.
Daisy laughed a little at how easily the supposed mean girl had become
