The Rain

In the bustling streets of Japan, a young man stood before a small food stall, ready to place his order.

Before he could utter a word, his phone rang, and as he answered, a deep and commanding voice echoed from the other end.

"Ryusei, there's a mission for you."

"Ehhh, I was just given a day off this morning, and you're already calling me out on another job?" Ryusei responded in slight annoyance.

Six years after learning of Takana's death, Ryusei had undergone a complete transformation, his appearance markedly different from those of earlier years.

Sporting short blonde hair with black roots slicked back, Ryusei, now wearing glasses, exhibited a face that had matured over the years.

Dressed in a casual Adidas tracksuit adorned with green and white stripes, Ryusei showcased a laid-back yet stylish demeanor.

"I understand we gave you the day off, but an emergency has surfaced, and right now, you're our only option," the man explained.

"You never let me be free, old man! Fine, give me the coordinates. I'll figure out what to do," Ryusei responded with a mix of irritation and resignation and he hung up the phone.

"Tch, and here I thought I would enjoy the night peacefully. Those damn curses," he mumbled to himself, frustration evident.

Turning away from the stall, he strode towards the provided coordinates, determined to exorcise the curse that had disrupted his plans for a peaceful night.

"Eishu Juvenile Detention Center, this must be the place. I can already see a barrier," Ryusei remarked as he stood in front of his designated mission location.

As Ryusei approached the barrier, cracks started to form all around it, and within seconds, the entire barrier setup shattered into pieces.

Ryusei's relaxed composure swiftly changed to a serious one as he grasped the katana at his waist and rushed inside.

With all of his senses on high alert, Ryusei beelined for the location where the most eerie curse energy emanated.

Approaching the scene, Ryusei observed two teenagers, roughly his age, engaged in a fierce battle.

One of them sported spiky pink hair, a muscular physique, and prominent tribal tattoos sprawled across the expanse of his chest. A distinctive feature that stood out was the presence of four eyes on his face.

The other had uniquely styled black hair, forming long spikes that jutted out in every direction around his head, resembling a sea urchin.

Observing the intense battle between the two, Ryusei calmly approached, drawing his katana. However, they appeared to completely ignore his presence, as if he didn't exist in the same space.

The one with pink hair extended his right hand toward the black-haired individual, aiming to impale him with razor-sharp claws.

Just as the claws were about to strike the black-haired man, Ryusei's blade swiftly sliced off the pink-haired man's arm with precision.

Blood sprayed out from the area where the arm was sliced, and, seemingly realizing Ryusei's presence, the two hastily backed away from him, visibly startled.

"Ryusei-san!" the black-haired guy exclaimed in shock, his tension easing somewhat.

"Yo, Megumi. I was around the place, and Yaga called me, saying there was a mission here. Didn't know the first years were having a group mission without me," Ryusei stated as he greeted Megumi.

'When did he get here? I'm sure I didn't sense him coming our way at all. Who is this guy?' The pink-haired one questioned himself as his hand started to regenerate.

'No matter I will just kill both of them!' The man grinned to himself as he rushed at Ryusei.

Before the man could react, Ryusei's blade struck his body three times, faster than his eye could see.

-[Agility: SS -> SS+]-

The man was knocked back several meters, and slash marks across his body began to rapidly regenerate. Within a few seconds, all the wounds on his body, except one, were fully healed.

"Ryusei-san! Don't kill him if possible. He is Itadori, he is the one who ate Sakuna's finger" Megumi stated.

'Before, there was no hope; it was either kill or be killed. But with Ryusei-san, there is still a chance,' Megumi thought to himself as he clenched his fists.

"The one fighting me is not Itadori; it's Sakuna. If I give even the slightest opening, the bastard will slice me up," Ryusei stated, pointing his katana at Sakuna, who was charging towards them.

Just as Ryusei and Sakuna were about to exchange blows once more, Sakuna stopped mid-charge. The tattoos covering the boy disappeared as blood dripped from the corner of his mouth.

"I-I don't happen to have any logical reason for saving you back then," Megumi stated.

"I just didn't want to see a good person like you die. I had some doubts, but I ultimately made a sacrifice based on my selfish choice. But that's fine. I am not a hero. I am a sorcerer."

"That's why I never regretted saving you, not even once," Megumi finished, wearing a sad smile on his face.

"I see," Itadori responded with a grin on his face.

"You are smart, Fushiguro, so... you must be thinking about these things more than me. I think the way you live your truth is right, but I don't think I am in the wrong either. "

"Ah, sorry," he stated in a weak voice as his legs started to give up. "It's almost time for me. Kugisaki, Gojo-sensei, I don't need to worry about you guys... right?" Itadori said as he fell to the ground.

Megumi stood in silence, looking at the skies, mourning his lost friend.

Ryusei gazed at Itadori's lifeless body as a puddle of blood started to form around it. Clenching his katana tightly, he too engaged in a silent prayer, paying his respects to the fallen.

"I didn't know the guy for more than a minute, however, he sacrificed himself thinking it was the only way to save the two of us," Ryusei stated.

"He was... a good guy," Ryusei added, acknowledging the unexpected heroism in Itadori's sacrifice.

"If you're done, we need to carry his body back, at least give him a proper funeral," Ryusei said, recognizing the importance of honoring Itadori's sacrifice.

"I understand..." Megumi responded in a low tone as he picked up Itadori's body and carried it on his back.

"Those higher-ups, sending first years on a special grade mission. They are starting to piss me off," Ryusei thought to himself as he followed behind Megumi.
