SCP: The Unforseen Variable (Old)

Murrey, finds himself in a new world made of laws he dosen’t understand. Find as he grows his organization creates a religion and tries to prepare for the end of everything. This book is being rebooted because I screwed up some plot points that I can’t fix aside from rewriting it all. So I’m doing a reboot. If you wanna get a sneak peek into what the reboots plot is gonna be later down the line I guess you can read this. I wouldn’t because it would make the pay offs less impactful, but you do you. Permission was given to me by Duy Giang to use his art for the cover go check him out. They’ve made some of the coolest and quality art related to SCP on a visual level and is one of the reasons I wanted to make this book

As I started brainstorming on how I would be able to avoid destroying myself I was interupted by an (Administrator).

"Kee- I mean Champion welcome back do you need anything?" He asked probably puzzled by having to call me Champion.

I simply said, "no" and motikned him out of my office. Taking a gander at the filed placed upon it I started reviewing them, and was once again reminded of the inadequacie of tier 2 infiltrator. As one if them got arrested forcing us to break contact and gather anything incriminating and firebombing their apartment to get rid of any ties to us. This of course was a huge security breach as I didn't trust a level 2 infiltrator to be able to resist torture if the GOC or Foundation got to them.

Deciding that if there were signs of the Foundation or any other anamalous organization getting involved that I would stage a raid using one of the level 5 infiltrators gangs. With the main goal of termination, and wiping the databanks to prevent any information leak. After doing so I ordered the use of cyanide pills for any and all infiltrator personell. I also questioned an (Administrator) on why there wasn't any actiob taken when I was gone. To which they responded that they were in charge of mainly running the facility.

Which then made me consider getting some sort of spymaster, but I put that on hold as I needed to fix my soul. Making my way to the Doctors quarters I first saw him reading a university level biology textbook in a comftorable looking chair with books sprawled around him on the floor.

Noticing my entry the Doctor greeted me. "Hello I do apologize for the mess as I would normally be much tidyer." He apologized as wuickly as he breathed. "I just seem to have found myself theroughly enthralled by these wonderfull books you have given me." He provided both an excuse, and assurance of his continued effort of my instructions.

"You have proceeded at an exemplary pace, and I believe it is time for some practical experience." I explained.

"Very well," the Doctor said after giving me a curt nod.

Motioning them to follow me I looked at the system for any changes, and my eyes eventually settled on the blinking (Cult) tab. At this point I knew I wasn't really going to be able to keep a "morally correct" religion. And Jody being able to sacrifice things to make me more powerfull is just the excu- I mean reason to not worry about it.

Speaking of Jody when I opened the (Religion) tab I was bombarded with notifications

(Congragulations on gaining followers you have unlocked (Religion)

(You may now gain power through your (Religions) values)

(Current Values are)

-One True Surpreme Being

-Sacrificial Worship

-Unquestionable Faith

-Youth Indoctrination

Now I've seen some fucked up shit before, but damn that is fucking horrendous. Horendously amazing for me hot damn depending on how farspread this cult is I'm going to be rolling in manpower. If anything I just have to make sure a connection between Bulwark and the cult isn't made as that would be horrible for diplomacy.

(Religion Personell)

-1 Head Cult Leader

-5 Cult Leaders

-500 High Priests

-5,000 Missionarys

-75,000 Spell Swords

-500,000 Cultists

(Note: Numbers are rounded for convenience)

This was amazing though I doubted that Jody would be able to stay out of the GOC or Foundation's eyes with those numbers. Besides I wanted to get rid of my soul problem as soon as possible, and what better way then rituals. Previously I had brushed over them because I had a shortage of expendable people to sacrifice. Granted there were rituals that didn't require people, but these rituals either required time consuming ventures to acquire them. Or obsurdly rare, and expenive items that wouldn't ever be bought as it would expose Bulwark further.

So with my now readilly avaliable human reasources I believed it time to visit Jody again.

Upon using the Way to arrive within the spot I previously sat for years reading a book I was suddenly ontop of a statue with a surprisingly accurate depiction of myself. As I looked down the what I estimated to be 2 meter tall statue I hopped down, and landed at the feet of the statue. I had also landed next to two people in gray robes who I paid no heed to as they quickly reeled in their surprise, and decided to try to handcuff me. This of course failed as I just used my Trenchcoat to cut through them. And turned around staring straight at them my glowing eyes beeming upon them.

Upon seeing my outfit they imediatly prostated and apologized multiple times. That was until they had the courage to go inform what I assumed would be their surperiors. Looking inside the building I was in I noticed the ornate church sourounding me. Tapestry, paintings and all sorts of artworks where set in and around the hall I was in. A fair bit of which displaying some recountance of my being here. Though there were those that explained scenes of battles, rituals, sacrifices and the burning of villages. One such thing that caught my eye was a scene were some robed purple fknights battling some mechanical abominations that resembled humans.

Wondering what could have caused such a conflict, and recognizing the need to uunderstand the scale of which this Cult had grown, and its conflicts. I was brought out of my inspection by a voice.

"His everlasting will see you now Oh Greet One." A black robed figure with a porcelain mask situated upon his face said. I took inspection of their mask it was black just like their robes although their seemed to be purple whisps jumping off it like embers. The design had gold plated around the non-existent eye holes with eylashes, cheeks and up to their eyebrows having an layer of gold situated upon it. Their black robe seemed more cerimonial as their hood draped overtop their head, and had a cape that seemed to not move no matter what movement they made.

Gesturing them to lead the way I inspected what seemed to be retired armour. And was impressed of it design as it was very innovative for the time period it was listed as being used in. What had impressed me more was how it seemed that the more complex things got the easier it was for the Cult to improve the items to the point of being decades ahead of time. The thing that caught my attention the most to the point I stopped my escort was the wooden box that had runes carved into it and looked like a regular clockwork machine mixed with a heart.

What brought me to it however was my Time attunement telling me it was older than the planet, and my Reality attunement telling me the thing shouldn't exist on this plane of existence. Beside the heart in a box was a plaque detailing the battle waged on the Citadel of the Church of The Broken God. This of course imediately made me think that it was anomalous. What made me even more certain was when I questioned my escort he said that ever since they had gotten it the Church had shifted all their focus onto them.

Noting down the thing as important I made sure to get Jody to lock it up tighter. As we made out way down the very well made hallways which were contantly being decorated by chandeliers we made it to an office.

I'M BACK BITCHES

My break ended much sooner then expected (Thanfully) so heres a late chapter
