9 Chapter 9

"A new student coming to this class eh?" Liam said in amusement.

There's been word going about of a student attending the military school and being placed in the class of special students

Students placed here usually have extraordinary V.P. and are trained differently from the other students here.

"Of course, whoever it is, they can't be better than me or Liam," Vera said proudly as she followed Liam like a lost puppy.

A lot of people pitied her. The classic girl falls head over heels for a guy who isn't remotely interested in her. She keeps dreaming, but the reality isn't on her side and is constantly ignored by her love, making it painfully one-sided.

Soldiers were in the cafeteria, they were all holding guns and aiming them at one person. "It seems the new student is a dangerous one," Vera said smirking. "They'll be fun to fight."

"You can at least give him some space to eat!" Liam heard Hannah's angry voice and his heart began beating in anticipation.

He walks past the soldiers. They don't do anything to him and he sees Null eating calmly, while Hannah is looking at the soldiers fiercely.

"Hey Sunshine," he said casually, everyone turned to him. Null simply waved at him. Liam smiled at him and walked to his table. "You guys may go now," he said shooing the soldiers away.

"We were given instructions by--"

"I don't care," Liam said. "He's not doing anything but eating. He can't possibly escape this high-security facility," he said calmly, but his eyes were cold and filled with killing intentions.

"Of course," the soldier who was talking said fearfully and gave a signal to the rest of the soldiers and they dropped their guns and walked away.

Vera wanted to sit next to Liam, but the seat wouldn't contain them, so she went to sit next to Hannah only to be glared at by him. "What are you doing here? Leave you are being a nuisance," Liam said coldly.

Vera felt a pain in her chest and began tearing up, getting up to leave, not before glaring at Null, who paid no attention to her.

"Wow, you are harsh," Hannah said. "She clearly has a crush on you."

"She is a nuisance to me. I don't like her, she's too weak," Liam said.

"Cruel," Hannah said deadpanned.

Liam was unbothered by that and grabbed Null by the shoulder. "By the way why was Null being aimed at?"

"The government found out he made a gun from scratch, and when I suggested that I brought him here, they thought he wouldn't go without a fight, which he didn't only when they forcefully detained him!" she said angrily hitting the desk. "He killed five people when he was being detained and thirty when he was being released. He hasn't taken his medication yet, so he's currently at score-S at least."

"He made a gun from scratch?" Liam said smiling, then shook Null, who simply looked at him blankly. "Wow, you are irresponsible," he said to Hannah.

"Well, I think it's a happy coincidence. He used the same gun against a score-A beast, even though he ended up just crushing its neck," she said in annoyance, not denying the fact that she was irresponsible and should have watched Null a bit more closely. "Anyway, he's going to be attending here," she said folding her arms.

"Of course, he would, after a stunt like--"

"It's not because he made a gun from scratch," Hannah said seriously. "They successfully tracked him down and is in danger of getting kidnapped, that's why he was attacked by a score-A beast, it was a warning that they would soon get him."

"So you brought him here--"

"For protection and to have a chance of a normal life," she said. "I wanted to enroll him in class F, but that seems to be impossible since despite his V.P. being score-F, he still has the strength, agility, and speed of a score-S."

"Really?" Liam said.

"Correct," Hannah said, then relaxed. "He's going to be your roommate because you are the only one who has beaten him so far. They hope that in case something goes wrong you can copy his V.P., beat him and probably kill him."

Liam's smile slowly faded. He looks at Null who has stopped eating, but he looks completely unbothered. He took the pill that was neatly placed on the desk and swallowed it with some water.

He looks at Hannah. "I know you don't care, but I care a lot. If you die again, I'll bring you back again, and we'll find a way to avoid it," she said seriously.

Null could care less about it. He looks at Liam who has a serious look on his face. When he noticed he was being looked at, Liam turned to Null and smiled. "Did you miss me?" he said.

Null obviously didn't know how to answer this so he simply shrugged.

Liam wasn't disappointed. Null still hasn't felt any emotions yet. He will wait patiently for that to come.

"I do have one good news of all the things that have happened," Hannah said. "Null said his first words," she said then smacked her head on the desk. "I didn't get to hear it though."

"Congratulations!" Liam said smiling. He isn't going to ask Null to speak in front of this many people.

"His first words were 'Don't move... Score-A' and I couldn't get a full description."

Liam looks at her weirdly. "You sound like an obsessed fan," he said in amusement.

"Shut up," Hannah said scowling at him. "His things should have arrived already. You are responsible for him, make sure he takes his medications, and protect him if you need to."

"Yes ma'am," Liam replied mockingly saluting her.

Liam led Null, alone, to his room. No soldiers were needed for this since they'd done is needed to be done.

"So, you made a gun from scratch?" Liam said remembering what Hannah had said earlier.

Null nodded, he took his hand and began writing on it. 'It was easy to do,' he wrote. 'I picked up a few things when I began walking from school back home, and it was easier to do from then.'

"That is impressive," Liam said. "Did you only make one?"

Null looked at him and they got to the room. 'No.'

Liam opens the door, smiling. His dorm had two rooms, he was staying alone because he wasn't trustworthy enough to have a roommate.

He opened the room that was supposed to be empty and he saw a lot of framed drawings and paintings, varying from large to small. "You've been busy," he said.

He stood before the first painting Null had made. "Why did you paint this?" he asked. Null was looking at the bag of art supplies.

Null shrugs. "You can talk... don't you want to talk to me?" Liam said.

Null raises an eyebrow. Liam gives him the puppy eyes. What's is with those eyes? Null is visibly confused by this action so he looks away.

'It isn't going to work, huh?' Liam thought. "I'm not going to force you to talk to have a conversation with me. We can just communicate with you writing and me doing all the talking."

"I... I... want... to," Null said quietly.

Liam pounces on him, hugging him tightly. "Aw, you sound so cute!" he said while Null struggled to be released. He used the energy-draining V.P. from him until he became limp. "You are still alive, aren't you?"

Null nodded tiredly. His energy can not be replaced with his V.P., quickly because of how weakened it is currently, so he has no choice but to allow Liam to hug him.
