Chapter 4 Hi… Hello

Passing thru door to door, the floors were clean, slippery, wall are dull and cracks are found on corners, on the top of every door were silver thin bars with numbers, I counted, 1-A… 1-B…1-C…1-D

What are this numbers, every number has a door, emitting gloom, I had a second to peek, but there are sitting people, plenty of them, all are staring on a dark green wall, colored with yellow lines and one person is pointing at it.

The Victoria stop walking, then I hit my brother's back.

"Here we are," she said

I look at the silver bar… 1-E, same picture, same setting, and still gloomy.

The Victoria opened the door, we follow, soon as she entered all heads turn to us, everybody is staring.

"Ms. Griffin, a new student would be joining you today" Victoria said.

My brother urge me to go in front, he offered a handshake to introduce, but Griffin looks at me sternly and suddenly said, " good morning, care to introduce yourself in class?"

At this point I can feel my brother's grip loosening, I look back and he was already outside, and he just gives me a thumbs up.

I can feel the pressure, their eyes are on me, and Griffin got the most intense of them. I got to say something, "Go~G~ good morning" I finally said something, I inhaled "my name is Zia Calyst, nice to meet you all" I look at the door, and my brother's gone.

"So… back to class, Zia dear, take a seat at the chair over there." She pointed at the middle on, on the 2nd row.

There are 6 columns of chairs, each having a pair and 5rows on each. I made my way on the 3 column from the door 2nd row.

As soon as I sat down, Griffin stared to write something on the green wall. I look at the kid beside me, he started writing what Griffin wrote. I scanned around, everyone is doing the same thing, so I opened my bag and took out a gray notebook and yellow pencil, and I started writing.

The whole room is just silent, only Griffin's writing and our pencil scratches can he heard. She wrote and drew

I followed everything, but I don't know what it is, I'm just looking at a not so perfect circle with pancakes and dots, what is it?

Then she turn around and immediately asked, "so is there anyone who can say what will be our topic for this day?"

I continued on writing, until I finish all of what is written on the board, oh no I pretend to continue writing, there was still no one answering her question. Then she said a random name "River", the boy beside me stood up. He wore a thin pair of glasses, and a brush down hair. He said in full and proper voice, Good day Ms. Griffin, I speculate that our topic for today would be about the animal cells" then he sat down and grab his pencil and listen attentively. I follow the same mannerism.

"River is one of the studious student in class, and a well-mannered one, could I entrust you with aiding Zia in catching up, River?" she looked at him strongly, as if she expect him to agree.

He look at me and back to Griffin "of course, Ms. Griffin"

Griffin smiled, and continued to teach, River sighed, and listened back, taking note here and then.

Everything went smoothly, my brother said that I only have half a day. It seems that they have only one subject a day, written on the paper at the table of River.

There was no time at the room, but the bell suddenly rang. I got surprised, I saw River startled by my actions.

He composed himself back in a second.

"That will be it until today, be back tomorrow for languages" Ms. Griffin said and stormed off the room

I saw River fix his things, I followed, he stood up, and I stood. I followed his mannerism until outside of the school. He doesn't seem to be bothered, once outside of the gate, he paused and turned back me. He handed me a piece of paper "this is my phone number, contact me whenever you had questions, the first week of science was all about the terms that we would be using in class, it is all on the book. With all that said, I bid you farewell" He just turned and walk towards a gray car.

I shake myself from all of that, I head to the place where brother pointed earlier.
