From atop the watchtower, Arya observed a column of black-clad soldiers encircling Kodim 0214 from all directions within a 500-meter radius.
At such a distance, snipers or bombers should have easily decimated their foes. However, none engaged, as even Mayor Sigit hesitated to hasten the onset of warfare.
The enemy's numbers and armaments were formidable, far exceeding their own.
It felt reminiscent of the Vietnam War, but this time, they lacked dense forests for guerrilla warfare.
Kodim 0214 was not just a home; it was also a symbol of EUN's military control over West Sumatra. If it fell, all those who survived the catastrophe would lose faith in the nation.
For those who witnessed their families perish on all sides, their trust lay solely in the hope of salvation of the survivor.
