Dumb Jealousy
Kylia smiled as she looked at the first formidable enemy she would face. Whenever she heard Del's stories about battling powerful foes, Kylia couldn't help but feel envious and jealous. Envious because she had never experienced it herself, and jealous because there was someone else who understood Del so deeply besides her.
When Del recounted the story of his fight against Groda, Kylia always saw a wistful longing in his eyes to have another battle with his rival. Kylia didn't understand why Del was so attached to someone who wanted to kill him.
At first, Kylia thought it was just one of those unexplainable bromance things that women couldn't understand. But there was another possibility: perhaps she couldn't comprehend it because she had never faced an equal rival before. Whether in her current life or in her previous one, Kylia always fought using meat shields or sacrificial lambs to do her bidding.
