Prologue

Since the days of old, a goal shared by any nation that involved the usage of metal to create instruments of war all focused on one goal: to find the base metal element or alloy with the highest strength to weight ratio that could be used in mass production at a reasonable price.

In 2015 the North Carolina State University in the USA announced that they had developed an alloy with the highest strength-to-weight ratio known.

In 2020 NASA had a surprise press conference where they released information on a new spacecraft they had developed using the new Magnesium alloy which they boringly dubbed as Magall.

By 2027 all world superpowers had either developed or retrofitted existing aircraft to use Magall. A lighter alloy with a higher strength to weight ratio than aluminium meant a vessel that had increased flight distance capacity with a more reliable frame for harsher G forces and increased weapon payload.

In 2029 the 2 spacecraft christened Hermes & Fortuna departed earth on their 7 month travel to Mars.

On October 26th, 2030, 07:30 Dr. Ares Larsen discovered an unknown ore during a routine soil inspection of Bio-dome 4. By 21:30 that same day NASA received a full report on this unknown metal.

On Janurary 7th, 2031 whistle-blower Reyansh Patel working for the pentagon at that time managed to gain access to a Class 5 encrypted file and managed to pull a image of what appeared to be a periodic element labeled as '?'. With the atomic weight listed as 3.333.

On Janurary 8th, 2031 Reyansh leaked about 400,000 words worth of classified intel to the press. Showing the corruption prevalent in the United states's defense contracts. Included in the files was a small image of a mystery element.

In September of 2031 Russia and china suddenly declared a trade sanction against the United States and it's allies. The United Nations scrambled to find a solution to this sudden hostile action.

On February 4th, 2032 the world found itself at the starting stages of the third world war.

On Feburary 7th, 2032 all hostility ceased due to a single battle.

A single squad under the banner of the UN comprised of former SF operatives from around the world were shown in battle donning the world's first battle suit nicknamed Ares. 9 soldiers in Ares Mk. 1s' wiped out an entire Battalion belonging to the still budding russian-chinese alliance in 40 minutes with no casualties.

On March 7th, 2032 all countries with nuclear capabilities signed a de-nuclearization treaty now known as the Unification treaty.

In the year 2035 the information on the Ares Mk 1s' were declassified with the introduction of the Mk 4s.

The metal used in the production of an impossibly light and sturdy exoskeleton has been named Unitatium for it's role in unifying the world for the first time in all of earth's history.

On August 4th, 2037 an explorer team found a construct 130 km away from the first city on Mars; Union city. At 15:00 Earth Standard Time it was confirmed that the construct was in fact artificially produced and judging from how far underground it was discovered it was more than likely over 15,000 years old.

All surviving parts of the construct was made entirely out of Unitatium.
