A RATHER INTERESTING DAY

CHAPTER 9 – A RATHER INTERESTING DAY

The silver armored man smirked.

"You seemed disappointed, child..." He said and jumped down to the ground, to the level where Kaplan was located. He eyed Kaplan for couple of seconds then readied himself to attack.

"But, it does not matter."

Kaplan about to retort, but he saw Seyit had opened his eyes; not much later, the silver armored man launched an attack to Kaplan, but he got interrupted by Seyit.

Seyit catch the silver armored man's sword with his bare hand and broke it into pieces.

'That was fast...' Kaplan thought. '...And did he just use magic?'

Seyit had just opened his eyes, and in a sudden he appeared before the man's attack reached to Kaplan; the most interesting thing was, he grabbed the sword and broke it without a hassle.

Since he just thrown away with ease, Kaplan only assume that he was using magic at that time. He just saw a faint glow in Seyit's red eyes, and that meant a person was using magic; and it could not be seen by person who do not have magic.

"Wha—," the silver armored man could not even finish as Seyit grabbed the silver armored man's head and crumbled it into pieces.

The other bandits were frozen in shock; The leader, silver armored man, was a magic warrior. He was weak, he did not even have a tier, but he was still a magic warrior.

One of the lowest ranking soldiers killing him was making no sense.

"What are you?" The one of the red beards spoken but received no answer. Seyit simply glanced at them and vanished in thin air.

Kaplan felt a small wind rushed at him, and in a moment later, Seyit appeared behind two red bearded men, and crushed their heads to each other's.

Kaplan looked at the dreadful bodies around him and sighed. "Well, so you are a magician," he said and looked at Seyit. "I thought your type positioned in Magic Forces," then he added thoughtfully.

Seyit glanced at Kaplan and sighed. He was all bloody, and he smelt like internal organs of people; very specific smell, really, and he mind very much of it.

"Can I have a bath, first?" Seyit asked with exhaustion.

"Well, you can certainly have," Kaplan answered and looked at dead stormer next to him.

"But… How do you intent to continue travelling?"

[Abray]

Abray was trying to be relaxing in her study since she had a rather long day.

As usual, the Amiye Sultan, the ruler's wife, was trying to gain influence by blackmailing and bribing some people. She had the power of the throne, in formality really, but still she had the power of janissaries, and that was enough to scare most of the people.

"A pity she had no courage to force her power towards Ferik Melih Pasha," Abray giggled.

The Ferik meant the third greatest rank in general ranking, and currently he was the highest-ranking military officer, along with Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha, in the Western Beast Empire. Also, Abray knew all the things happening in the army thanks to her uncle, Harbiye Nazırı Metin Pasha.

Abray had another thought, however. The war still brewing, and no impact occurred until now.

Abray knew the reason why the war about to start, an iliac eyed magician with white cape.

All the things combined made no sense, however, since Beastistans had no real army, well, a real powerful army.

So that lead a question she was seeking for a while.

"What is the power of the magician to lead Mortil to attack us?"

A mundane question, Mortil was a fanatic. He was plain stupid, probably manipulated by the magician to attack the western beast Empire.

"This is too coincidental with the portal had just opened..."

Abray wanted to know how a single person effect the two countries; surely, a single magician should not be that resourceful.

Therefore, that leaded a thought in her mind. "What if… The magician's intent not to destroy the kingdom but something else?" She muttered.

It was more reasonable. Even though her father was fighting against monsters at Kus Island, Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha alone was enough to destroy many; not to mention his personally trained troop.

"But the real question what is his intentions…" she thought. "And why we are waiting for an attack?"

Kaplan was amazed.

Koylucity was a rather big city. Aside from the City of Asena, which was capital of the kingdom, Koylucity was the biggest in the empire.

Kaplan could see the sea, and that was why it was named as Koylucity as the Koy meant coast in old language. The coast had Levents(marines) Quarters, and it was the Levents Headquarters.

The walls were high, more than 20 meters, and looked as new as when it was built. There were another wall surrounded the center; it would seem royals needed to separated themselves with other folks.

Kaplan could remember in the game that the city was a kind of trade center and had an academy. The academy in there used to find talented people and send them to the main academy in the capital.

"So, we have arrived," Kaplan muttered. It took 10 days to get there, sooner than they anticipated thanks to the delay on the road, but Seyit found another stormers soon enough and they rushed there with their all might.

After they saw the city afar they reached the city gate, couple of guards were patrolling around and Kaplan could see the tension in their faces.

"Halt!" A dark green uniformed soldier shouted. "Who are you?" He said and looked at Seyit and saw his rank. "And why have you come?"

It was clear the guard did not see Seyit as an authority.

Kaplan was sure the guard was nervous, and that usually leads paranoia; but the guard was not as paranoid as he assumed, since he dismissed Seyit rather easily.

'I am thinking much, I guess,' Kaplan mentally shrugged and looked around. The folks around seemed tense; he could see the fear on their faces.

Something was not right.

Seyit, after he saw the guard's behavior, rolled his eyes and pick a scroll in his bag; he handed it over the guard and looked at him smugly.

The guard looked at the seal on the scroll and his eyes wide open. "Barbaros Pasha?" The guard muttered.

"So, have we permission to enter?" Seyit asked with a serious look.

"Yes," The guard spoken formally. "Please do enter," and he made way to let them through.

Seyit snorted and went inside the city following by Kaplan himself.

The city was more beautiful inside; the very first thing that greets you was a wolf statue.

Wolf, as a race, was the race of rulers of the country. The baby normally has the mother's race in demi-human standards, yet the sultans were only exceptions; their children always born as demi-wolf, like the Asena, she-wolf and ancestress of the lineage of demi-human folks.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Seyit said, breaking Kaplan's trance. Kaplan looked at Seyit then statue again . "Indeed, but something dark covers the beauty of the city, no?" Kaplan asked with a side glance.

Seyit caressed his chin. "I guess, but I am not sure why," he said as he looked around. The people were restless and neither Kaplan nor Seyit knew why.

Seyit eventually sighed and looked at Kaplan. "Come on, we need to go. Eventually we will learn why they are restless."

'I guess, in a way,' Kaplan nodded in acknowledgement. 'But I do not remember this in the game… I am sure this place was full of happy people 'till Empire launched war to whole world,' Kaplan thought. 'Butterfly effect, maybe?'

"Hey, are you listening?" Seyit asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes," Kaplan said and turned his head towards Seyit. 'But I guess, I should focus my priorities first,' he thought. "Let's go and meet infamous Barbaros Pasha, shall we?"

Seyit smirked. "Yes, Let's go."

In the middle of the summer, the Okyanus city was lively as ever.

Being close to the west side of the continent and having access to white sea made the city one of the biggest cities that had seafoods diversity.

It was a beautiful city, and along with happy people, the garrison had no necessary to act to anything.

Yet, a rather disturbing news reached this place as well. A portal that connected to the Monster Island. The current Ruler, Sultan Arslan went there to fight to the beasts with troops, so they were somewhat relieved.

Yet, they knew if a tier 8 or 9 beast came out; only Sultan Arslan could manage to defeat them in there, but if the troops were dead, even Sultan Arslan could not manage to stop all the beast that went through.

"Mommy," a child, around 8 years old, was running towards a demi-fox woman. The woman had brown hair, and hazel eyes; she was looking at the young girl who was running at her with a soft smile.

"Yes, love," The woman said as she crouched and hugged her daughter gently.

"Mommy, that person acts strange," the young girl said as she pointed out a man.

The man was looking around with a creepy smile, it looked like he was searching for something or someone.

"Well, dear. Let's go," The woman said, a little taken back by the strange man. She reached the little girls hand and hold her gently. She wanted to be far away for that man for some reason.

Her instincts were yelling her to get away.

"Ahaha, here you are!" Yet her relief did not happen as the man started to run towards her with his all might.

She was about to speak, but a soldier beat her up to it. "Stop, what are you doing," the soldier said as he drew his sword.

The creepy man jumped towards the soldier as the soldier made a cutting motion; yet before the attack reached the creepy man, the creepy man glowed in white.

Then, hell went loose.

BOOM!
